Morning Seaxwyn...I totally agree with everything you are saying and doing and I really like this new line of thought.
It is really hard when self employed to put the tax away every week/month or however and myself have decided that I will put it away every week as though it is a bill.
It's so hard trying to juggle everything with money and it does take over your life so prioritising is a great thing.I've been having the same thoughts as you and so have many others so you are not alone in that respect.
We will all pay our debts off at different amounts at different times as we are all different!!!!!....Mizmir and Hypno also say it so much better than me ...take care xxhave a good day xx0 -
If you are anything like me, when I'm busy work tends to take over my whole life - I get up early in the morning to get started, I work late into the night to finish things off, I get impatient with the kids when they distract me, and the hoovering and the ironing never gets done. I always get jealous of friends who can go to the office, and switch off from work when they get home.
I keep promising myself to get a routine - give myself a morning or two when I can do the cleaning, make sure I make time to get to the gym, and try not to work evenings so that I can actually spend a bit of quiet time watching tv with my OH (you can see how exciting my life is!!).
I never seem to manage it, but it sounds to me as if you are feeling burnt out, and I know exactly how that feels. I think you need a breather - will life be a bit easier now school has started again? Can you have a sit down with your OH, and spell out to him that you need him to help more keeping the house tidy, perhaps just agreeing that he will hoover through the whole house once a week, something specific that you can both agree on.0 -

tyllwyd, you sound just like me. I do work early mornings, every evening and most weekend. But I'm determined to get back into some kind of routine and only work in allotted hours. Of course that means I shouldn't be on here now!
Yes the children are back at school, it's good to have six hours a day when the house is quiet. OH has gone to College today as well. He should hear whether he has two days a week teaching this term or three (I hope two is the minimum anyway). Also the six million dollar question of whether he will be paid anything this month. The system requires getting various people to sign his contract by the 5th of the month (ie today).
I haven't got much work lined up but am drawing up lists of people to contact, things to do.... I feel very positive about my work prospects, just need to be clear what I'm offering and what I want to do.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Hope OH has more rather than fewer hours Seaxwyn and that you get loads of work in and done.
