Only 20 more pages of Bolivian forestry left to go. You'd think it would be interesting but it goes into incredible detail about the various laws and regulations and how they're applied, and it's written in a long-winded academic style..... Oh well, think of the money.

I got sent another job today and guess what it's about..... Forest issues in Paraguay! Completely unconnected clients as well.

I was getting so distracted today I went to the library to work. I said it was to get away from the kids and tv but really it was to get away from the internet. So I got 3 hours solid proof-reading done.

Now mulling over various social inviations I've had - a wedding, a 40th birthday dinner party, a leaving-for-New-Zealand party, and a work team bonding trip to London Zoo! My usual reaction is to decline everything on cost and hassle grounds, but OH is urging me to accept them all and not be a miserable stop-at-home. I would feel so guilty going to the zoo without my children!

I was getting so distracted today I went to the library to work. I said it was to get away from the kids and tv but really it was to get away from the internet. So I got 3 hours solid proof-reading done. WELL DONE. Before now you would have let yourself be distracted that is ace that you found a solution.

Well I would go to them too, BUT maybe OH is egging you on so that you will spend money so that he can. Not putting it right, but what I mean is the maybe OH is subconsciously sabotaging you by encouraging you to go to all these things. Erm so I would got to them if you can do it a DIY way. And which ones are free:D

As for the post office 'not appealing' to your OH, well that isn't the point is it. You probably don't find reading 35k words about Bolivian forestry 'appealing' either, but you do it to bring in money. Also if he went along and did it it would a) provide some income, b) give OH self esteem a boost c) prove to him that he could do an alternative job 'at his age'.

Chev you always talk such sense!!

Seaxwyn, I looked at my hair dye box and it is not "dark brown" but "warm medium brown"..........(sounds nicer, doesn't it!). Despite getting the name of the colour wrong, it is still the best I have ever found!!! Dead easy to use too and lasts for ages!

Going to the library was a really good idea, whether to keep away from the kids or from us :T

I hope you have a good day today - for what it is worth, I think that if London Zoo is a work trip, then you should feel no guilt whatsoever - it is work after all. WORK!

Urgh bloomin Bolivian forestry, it's still going on.... I got up early to be sure to finish it this morning. But you'll never guess what. We went round for drinks at a neighbour's last night and I had a fascinating conversation about Bolivian forestry with one of the DDs' friends' dads. I think he was well impressed by my command of the detail!

Chev, my friends are moving to a small town in the north of South Island. I can't think of the name, I will find out and let you know. Remind me where you are.
