Thanks everyone for the messages. I'm back from a rather fraught week away, which involved commuting to London once and lots of dashing around trying to accomplish work with major technological difficulties! So it wasn't very relaxing, but I did get three really good swims in the sea. The children had a good time and OH was fantastic at feeding and entertaining them on a budget - it was (almost) a no-spend holiday.

I've now got to do some serious juggling as I have a lot of work to do - and I need the money - so have to fit that around giving the children a summer holiday, seeing my dad (who has now been moved to another hospital half an hour's drive away) and supporting my mum.

Thanks for the update and sorry it wasn't more relaxing for you but on the positive side your DH did really well on the budget side and you got a load of work done...
Can you delegate some stuff to DH while getting on with your work?...perhaps your mum would like your girls to keep her company and to help her while you are working maybe.Hope your dad is making a recovery and getting better treatment now...take care xxx

Hi Seaxwyn, glad that it was generally a successful week!

I have a parcel all wrapped up for your DS but because I have been on a No-Spend marathon, I have not been to the post office.......but you will be pleased to know that tomorrow is a designated "spend day" so I will be posting it off then!

Hope the logistics of the hospital move don't prove to be too stressful for you x

Hi Seax glad to see you back, if not refreshed then at least with some things accomplished.
Does that mean that your dad is further away or closer? Glad to see there has been some progress with that, is the hospital better for strokes?

Sounds like you need to schedule, summer holiday days, just like you would work days, then that will set (hopefully) a deadline in your head for a piece of work 'because on x day I have to take the children to do y'

Best of luck with fitting it all in, and I hope your OH can take some of the load from you.
