What you've just posted is lovely - its so honest, so straightforward. My brother was a househusband for years as his ex-wife was shooting up the career pole ... he made bread and everything. I think its the communication thing that matters, he used to casually say, oh we had a family meeting about x or y or z. when his kids were really little.
I hope you enjoy the 3 days in London - nice well paid work!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I know.....everything seems so bloomin simple when you just say it......but the reality of it is often very different.
On another topic - DS has dug out some shirts......quite smart ones.....send me your address and I will get them over to you for your DS.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I know this wouldn't help this year, but how about working with your bank so that everytime some money clears your account, 1% is automatically swiped into an account you can't get at, then next month 2% and so on. This way you will get used to not the full amount for a piece of work hitting your account.
The thing is you were saying you have these bills, but the tax is a bill too and you know that you don't want to mess with HMRC. So maybe if the swiping into another account was automated it would help a bit.
I hope that your dad is improving still. I guess it must be tough at the moment with the 3 days work in London AND then getting back to see him in the evenings.

I've updated my signature for the new month and annoyingly I'm £200 more in debt than I was on 1 July. This is partly because some clients have been late paying, and I hope the picture won't be so bad on 1 September.
Also, I have £1060 less in my savings account.
Moving on to more important things, my dad is making good progress. His speech is clearer and he is getting the use of his right hand back. But he's very weak, and he still can't walk more than a few steps, with a zimmer frame. Anyway, he's made a huge improvement from the beginning of the week and we feel confident he will make a good recovery.
It's all been quite draining, especially for my mum, who had a big wobble today.
I've enjoyed working this week, it is so nice to be around friendly colleagues, and to come back to an empty house! Tomorrow I will join the family at the seaside for a few days, I hope I can get some work done while away but if I can't I'll have to come back here. OH has seemed a bit grumpy the few times I've phoned. As if I'm indulging myself by working. Oh well, I hope he'll cheer up when I get down there.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
A bit of a bumpy ride for you this week.......but some good bits in there too. Glad your dad is making improvements - with some good physio and occupational therapy he will get there. Like the debt busting there will be good days and bad, and times where you all feel like there is no improvement for ages, but the overall progress will be in the right direction, I'm sure.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. That's the irksome thing - in nearly a week, he has seen the physiotherapist just once! The hospital is really quite shocking. But luckily this is a debt diary so I'll spare you that rant. The progress my dad has made is purely down to his own determination - luckily he has bags of that.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
IF you want to rant ..you rant...it's your diary x0
