In my daydreamy imaginations about idyllic working, I forgot to say "good news on the euro cheque".........what a nice surprise!!
Hope you have a good day - send the kids out on a ramble today and get some peace in which to work xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hmmm, the reality won't be so idyllic as this laptop has a failed battery so can only use plugged into the wall. Also has no 'T' button! I was dreaming of buying a new laptop but sadly can't afford it.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

I know what you mean. My laptop battery died last week, not that I used it much... but now I *cant*. Extension lead?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

'OH does the food shopping and that suits me'. Well yes, but does the blowing the budget regularly also suit you too? That was one of the main points of friction early on. I am not suggesting that YOU do the online shop necessarily but that OH does it, or would that mean no food?!
glad you have work coming, and that you opted to do work in the client's office. That means you have learnt from last holidays, when you were so stressed out about getting work done with the children in the house.
take care, and keep your fingers crossed for us, as NZ is about to be hit by the worst tropical storm in 10 years. Gulp!

Well I just had to log on to report that true to my fears, and despite my many reminders, OH has been paid a big fat £0 by the college this month. He worked virtually full time through June and July too. I am so furious about this.
We have about £550 worth of bills to pay and I was relying on him covering them.
I can't think what to say except :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
I am not surprised you are furious.....I am furious for you! but that doesn't help at all, does it :mad:
What is his reason for not "getting round to it".....and what is his true expection for the bills to be paid? Does he just rely on you to make it all ok?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. OH Seaxwyn..not again!!!!...I feel truly frustrated for you as there seems to be no getting through to him....I really don't know what to suggest.....sorry xxx0

Thanks guys - it does help to know that there are people out there that sympathise.
I have no idea what his true reasons are. He isn't even that repentant, he's caught up in some unrelated spat with the college and thinks I should be pleased that he's secured an extra two days work for this month.
I'm really fed up as things are as tight now as they have ever been, and I have to get through the summer holidays with no slack at all. On the other hand I feel quite fired up by the challenge and have already secured another week's work for the 3rd week of August.
Today I worked til 3pm and the children were angels and didn't squabble at all. Then I took the youngest two out to the library and park so feel like they had some summer holiday fun despite it all.
Tomorrow I'm taking the oldest two and three of their friends to the seaside for the weekend - we are very lucky to have the use of my friend's house for nearly 3 weeks. I am not going to think about what to do about the bills until I get back on Monday. But I do have £492 in an ISA which I could use.
Chev, if you read this, I broached the idea of meal planning and online shopping with OH once again. Eventually it may sink in.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

How frustrating! So hard to be constantly pushing and working hard on getting things sorted only to be thwarted by this seeming indifference to the whole thing from your OH. Who knows what is going on in his head?
Hope you find a way through this - am sure you will - and that somehow the light goes on in his head. Don't blame you for being hopping mad.
