Oh no, it's raining and the weather forecast doesn't offer much hope of improvement. Looks like the BBQ may be an indoor one. Time to tidy the house as well as the garden!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Hi Seaxwyn - guess you will be too busy right now to be checking your thread - but hope you have a fun day despite the weather. One of the best BBQs I ever had was held in the rain - my partner fixed up a tarpaulin between the back door and the washing line and we put as much as we could under the tarpaulin shelter - it got full of water and started sagging in the middle - but because it was summer time and fairly warm, no-one minded getting a bit of water on them occasionally! You have a shed - I know that..... and probably some trees, maybe?Maybe it will bring out the tool-making, problem-solving, protector and provider aspect of OHs male nature? Can but hope?!!
Look forward to reading how it all went.Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0 -

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. The rain stopped and the barbeque went well. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and the girls both thanked us for giving them such a nice party. Phew!
OH's protector/provider side was fully in evidence. He laboured heroically to get the garden looking nice, and did all the bbq cooking.
The garden is so lovely and clear now. It's a pleasure to look out the window onto the wide expanse of empty patio, and we have cleared a side alley so can now walk from our living room to the garden, where before there was an assault course of guinea pig hutches, bikes, bins and stuff waiting to go to the dump.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
