Hi Chev, how's the packing going?
I never heard any more about the PR work, despite leaving several messages. I've arranged to see that friend on 10 May (a social thing) so I will ask her then but I don't feel I can chase it more.
The invigilating may well interfere with other better paid work, but I understand from a brief phone conversation that you just say when you're available so I can work around things. But the other thing is that I could probably work more at the post office if I asked, and that's even nearer (like 30 seconds from my house) and more flexible. Maybe the invigilating is a bit of a red herring.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Well done with balance transferring the egg card.
The packing  ho hum. I have to keep on reminding myself that I AM making progress but the house still looks like a war zone. I can see that the day before the container comes is going to be manic. I will have to pack enough clothes for us for the trip to NZ. And my younger son is still having accidents, so no matter what I may pack it won't be enough! Sigh. And then of course we have to make sure that the suitcases don't get packed in the container. One person suggested that what wasn't going got put in the car, probably a good idea. The last thing I need is to find that the passports got packed:eek: , or something equally as bad!
Still I have given away my cot, a box full of toys and some other stuff so at least the loft is starting to look empty. Which means we can fill up with 'stuff' so the house looks ok if someone want to view it!

Hi Seax..you may as well apply for it and at least it's money whilst looking for something else...
Chev..how long before you go to nz?0 -
Hi Seax and Taxi
Well the container is coming the 22nd/23rd May:eek:  . Ie less than a month now! Then we have decorators coming the week after that plus some other contractors. Big sigh. So hopefully we will be going sometime around mid June. But OH still hasn't got a job to go to, we have no where to live when we get there, we haven't got our tickets yet, I haven't applied for any type of visa as no one seems to be able to tell us which one to get in our situation. yada yada yada yada.
I can just see that packing day comes and the container men say 'its not going to all fit' cue some very large amount of panicking! And before all of that I have DS1 in for a hospital appt tomorrow to see if he is still allergic to milk. And then DS2 has to have some minor surgery on the 12th (assuming it doesn't get cancelled).
Nothing like packing it all in at the last minute!
AND THEN we want to do a family birthday part for DS1 as we will be travelling on his birthday, but it can only be on one of two weekends. AND THEN DS1 has asked that we have a birthday party for his school friends as well. Sugar lumping hell, how are we going to chuffing do it all:eek:
Anyway sorry for the long post,

OMG..you've got loads to do.I would guess that you get in touch with the consulate and ask them.Do they let you in with no job and nowhere to live?..I'm sure for places like Australia you have to have a job/sponsor etc.Good luck with all that ...you cope better than me I'd be panic stricken by now.
seaxwyn are you ok?..not noticed you about lately..hope everythimg is ok0 -

We are in the lucky position that OH and the children are dual national british and australian. Which means they have a right of residency based on the australian nationality. BUT I am ONLY british, and the problem is (it seems) that OH has to be resident in the country before he can sponsor me. So it looks like I will have to go in on a tourist visa and hope that they let me stay. Not very reassuring as my entire wordly posessions will be mid transit by the time we arrive. And it seems that the NZ consulate just can't get their head round it at all either. SIGH
So fingers crossed everyone.

Blimey Chev, that sounds like stress in spades. Good idea of taxi's to contact the consulate, I thought NZ visas took a while (but is your OH a NZ national?)
Hi taxi, I'm still here, not been posting much as nothing is happing really debt-wise. We have no chance of making overpayments as we're stretched just meeting minimum outgoings.
I didn't apply for the invigilating as it would just be a distraction from finding better paid work, which I really need to do. There are various possibles brewing but nothing concrete. I did get offered one of the jobs I've mentioned recently, but turned it down as it would have meant lots of stress and responsibility. But that made me realise I've got to decide what I do want to do.

Hi chev, we posted at the same time. That's good that your OH can sponsor you, eventually. Will you be able to apply for a job if you go in on a tourist visa?
I'm sure things will work out once you're there. I know several people who emigrated to NZ, or are in the process, and not one regrets it. It sounds like a wonderful place.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
No Seax dual national aussie and british. If he was a kiwi it would be 'simple' because he could sponsor me from this country, not have to physically be in NZ.
And of course has he sorted his CV yet, got it out there, has he chuff! Yet another thing I can't do for him. And I am getting right hacked off with gentle reminders. I too must go and finish tea, so sea you later

Hi Seax...I'm the same not much to report.just going with the flow here.I agree that you need to work out what you want to do as at least you can really chase what it is you are after then.
Chev..it does sound really stressful at your end and very complicated so hope you can manage to sort it out soon.Would love to emigrate but don't know where I want to live though..0
