Don't be defeatist!! You have been here before, remember, and you ALWAYS get work - you just have to go and look for it!

You will only never work again, if you make that decision never to work again!

    Positive thoughts only please!

OH Seax - massive hugs - you sound really down! Is there nothing you can do this week to start the ball rolling? I know the kids are off, but perhaps just an hour a day? Might help you feel less desperate about it all.

  • Hi Seax

I completely understand where you are coming from, I really do and you have my sympathies. My sig will go up when I have to add my OD on next month, it feels like one step forward three steps back, BUT it is better than ignoring it. You are being active in paying it off.

Good luck on the work front.

Re the entrance fees for the race, I always feel guilty paying them but it is my one pleasure it feels at the moment and ultimately it will make you feel better and let's face it, you won't be spending any money whilst you're running will you - so effectively it's money saving!

Thanks girls. I do actually have some work to finish, I can bill £175 when it's done and there's nothing stopping me doing it now... except my MSE habit! I'll try to do that this morning and then I'll feel a tiny bit better. I'm also waiting til ten to call my friend who has mentioned work going in her PR company. Will report back after that.

I phoned and left a message so that's one thing done. Also sold a book on Amazon - £6.36 hooray!! And I've sent off the £22 for the Fun Run. A small investment in family fun and fitness!

Ok first off well done for having the twins WANT to run with you. That is fab, because it means you can't wriggle out of it!!!!

Second of all remember procrastination is NOT our friend. And (whispers) neither is MSE if it stops us getting things done. ( I AM going to hang the washing out and list another thing on ebay after this post HONEST:D ).

Thirdly you are beating yourself up over nothing again. Just remember how MUCH you have paid off. If you had been ignoring the problem ie pre LBM then you would be that much worse off in debt. It IS an achievment to have paid off over 10k in a year or so.

Yes taking OH debt onto your card is a pain. But for the FAMILY it will save the interest. And it is the family finances that are important. Of course if your OH were a bit more organised, and did run up debts, sort of by mistake/not thinking then that would be better. But short of an act of God I don't think this is going to happen. You have done SO WELL to cope with the ups and downs in income both yours and his. So don't stay down in the dumps too long.

If you have a negative attitude to work, (it is well paid but I hate it ) then that will come out over the phone/in an interview. Rather think I may hate it but it will bring my debt free date x months closer, so I will do my very best at it, to get the debt paid, so I can leave again with a glowing reference.

And remember if your friend recomended (sp?) you for this work, then a) she is putting herself on the line as she put you in for it, and b) she thinks you can do the job, which should be a huge ego boost. She does not want you to fail, so you go for it, and SMILE:D :D:D .

Sorry wasn't meant to be a ramble, but sometimes I think you are me. At least as far as putting things off are concerned.....

Take care and GO FOR IT!

Thanks Chev for that much needed pep talk. I have talked myself round to deciding that if the PR co does offer me work, I will accept it gratefully and do my very best for them. We could repay the debts faster, and feel more secure, if one of us had good regular earnings.

You are more than welcome Seax. You have also made me list two things on ebay, hang out the washing and put another load on. If you write it down you sort of have to do it...ish...!

Good luck with getting the job. You may find that you start in a job that you are not keen on but that it leads onto better things, if you really pull your finger out, and do it well.

Onwards and upwards and all that!
