Just popping by to say HELLO and check that you are ok.Hope everything is well.Take care x0

Thanks both. Chev that's very exciting that you have got so close to departure!
Funnily enough I did make a start on my CV this morning and will finish it tonight. I've been tipped off about a 3 day/week post I might be able to get, so need to send a good CV off for that one.
I'm going to update my sig soon as I've transferred the balance of my Egg CC and my OH's loan onto my new Virgin card, which is at 0% til July '09. Just waiting for the transfers to show up on my accounts.
This means I've transferred debt from OH's name into mine once again, a process that started soon after we met. But we will save £700 over the life of the loan, and I think he's sufficiently lightbulbed now that he won't run up any more debt and will help me deal with the ones we've got.
The minimum payment on the new Virgin card is only £25/month (for approx £7,400 balance). We were paying £195 for these two debts before. So on the one hand that's taken a lot of pressure off, but on the other hand there's a danger we won't have paid much off by July 09 when the deal ends.
Anyway... my priority now is to save any money I can into my ISA against January's tax bill. And I do want to take the children on holiday in the summer. the subject of holidays came up the other day and they were all happily talking about how much they'd love a week by the seaside again. So I will look out for a cheap caravan deal, unfortunately OH refuses to camp.
I went to a meeting in Mayfair today. It's stunning how many well heeled people there are about. An estate agent was advertising a flat to let for £13,000 a month rent! Then on the train home I sat next to a pair of bankers who were talking abuot their bonuses and share options and the tax headaches involved. There is so much money around, what can we do to attract some of it towards us needy folk?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Hi Sea
Just thought I'd drop by and say hello.
good news re the Virgin card, we took out the same deal in November and only pay £25 a month. Has given us a lot of breathing space and I have overpaid another credit card by about £300 per month by saving the minimum payment, so that when I have to move it again I will be ready for the bigger minimum again.
£13k a month for rent    might rent my house out!
Good luck in the job hunting as well.Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0 -

Phew!
This thread attracted me at the ungodly hour of 7.40 this morning and all day I have been dipping into it in between school runs, housework, making dinner and doing some work on my website but finally I have finished the thread!
It really has been an inspiration to read it all and follow the lives of everyone involved and notice how as time has progressed, how happier you all sound.
I don't have any debt to really speak about (small overdraft and an even smaller loan from my parents - finish paying it next week!) but I can relate to the day to day struggle to pay bills, buy food and give treats to my family and really dred anything going wrong which puts an already very tight budget into an eeekkkk one!
I am a single parent (blooming OH ran off with my best mate) and currently not working (again blooming OH and his activities, when he left I had to give up my evening work that fitted in with the kids) , apart from some volunteer work at a special needs playgroup, although it all started so brightly years ago with a good job, even better pay and a life of holidays, good cars etc. (Full story on house price crash thread!) and I am desperate to get back into employment but am finding it impossible to find childcare that will accept my two youngest children as they are autistic and one has a history of violence and aggression while the other is very complex to deal with.
I would love to work from home but I have no idea where to start, I am not even sure my skills would even be of interest to employers now as they are so out of date or out of fashion... although saying that, I do run a website which is very popular that involves running a team of approx 30 people and working to a very strict and demanding timeframe, providing positive PR (of which I had no experience of before!) and making sure people are maintaining the (very) strict standards I have set, unfortunately, this is not paid work...all done for the love of it!
Any suggestions would be extremely welcome! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Hello Sue! Welcome to MSE and thanks for the dedication in reading my thread! I'll go and look for your story - do start your own thread as the encouragement you get from others on here is fantastic.
If you have run a popular website I'm sure you would have no difficulty finding similar paid work. Clients don't necessarily distinguish between paid and voluntary work, they would be impressed by the achievement. I'd love to see your site, do send me the link as a PM if you don't want to post it here.
I'm just off to the post office for a 3-hour shift this morning. I persist in doing this even though it's always getting in the way of better paid work, as I enjoy it. I'm going to write a story set in a similar shop for the Woman & Home short story competition - £1,500 first prize and you never know, they might just pick mine!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Have a good day xLong haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0 -

Hi Seax, thanks for your welcome.
I have sent you a pm as I am a little worried about what the admins would think about me 'advertising' my site on here.We made it!
