    Oh and another thing....

My Abbey CC bill this month included £2.16 interest - even though I always pay it off in full every month. So I rang them and the Customer Services chap told me it was "their error" and refunded it. But I'm not impressed - how often do they make these errors, and do people normally notice?

The service from Abbey has been absolute pants and I'm not going to use that card any more now the 5% cashback promotion has finished. I'm just keeping all my empty cards open til my 0% deal ends on my Egg card (May I think), then I'll make them compete to transfer the balance.
    .

THANK GOD I thought they were only beeping me about. God they have been absolutely AWFUL haven't they. I changed my card over when they stopped using MBNA. Filled in the form honestly and said I got about 2k in income a year. They gave me 10 THOUSAND POUND LIMIT. How on EARTH is that responsible lending:eek:   .

And then they couldn't get the direct debit set up in time. I mean it is only from my ABBEY NATIONAL current account. How DAMN hard can it be. So I nearly missed the December payment. Then they took the direct debit, and my payment in January. So chuff knows what they will do on this months bill. In December I applied for online banking. By the END of January I had got my security code. BUT I STILL HAVE NOT GOT my one time password you have to have. I absolutely agree with you Seax. I will not be spending on this card after next month (I thought everyone got an extension till march?).

    Sorry rant over!

Seax ref the job, if you take it you understand you REALLY are going to have to get your you know what together. Maybe we can jolly each other along? I'll nag you to do billable hours and you nag me to get my ebay listings done:D  !

It comes to something when I blitz the bathroom rather than do ebay listings! Sigh. And on that note I am going to bed]

    HI chev and taxi

Yes Abbey are really useless, don't get me started.... But I have appreciated the 5% cashback thing - is it going on til the end of March? The chap on the phone told me it ended on 31 January. Oh well I'll see when I get the next bill.

I applied for that job last night and I think if it would help me get myself together as I have no problem being highly productive in a job situation. It's just when I'm totally responsible for all my work that I come unstuck. However I don't know whether I can convince anyone I know much about cookery.

Up early to finish work I could easily have done yesterday. Then off to London for the day. Why do I put myself through this?

Good luck with the ebay listing today Chev and yes, I'd love if it we could jolly each other along.

Have a good day in london.

I know exactly what you mean about being perfectly productive at a "proper" job - it is one of the main reasons I went back to work and has worked well for me so far.

Have a nice day in London.

I have several things to do today, so I am going to try and get at least two of them done. They are only telephone calls anyway, but still I shall be pleased to get them sorted.

Good luck with the job interview. I would have thought that you don't necessarily need to know about cookery per se but how to market it effectively. If you see what I mean.

Hope London's gone well, Seaxwyn. Interesting that someone as productive as hypno feels the same way as you about "job" versus total self-reliance. I don't have that problem in quite the same way because altho I'm self employed, I work with a partner, who's only one street away, I wouldn't have been self employed this long without him, I know I'd only have lasted a couple of months.

And if you and chev can pull each other up by your bootstraps, thats a perfect combination (thats me and my partner!).

Hiya Chev, did you make those calls?

I had a good day yesterday and worked hard (at the clients' office) for eight hours and got loads done. I have another day's worth to finish this job and I am determined to do it at home tomorrow. There is no reason why I shouldn't work in the same focussed way here.

Today I'm not working, I'm going to visit a friend in Somerset. I'm really looking forward to seeing her and another friend I'm travelling with. Long train journeys - heaven.

I sent an application for that cookery website writer job, haven't heard anything yet...

Enjoy your day with your friend, and if you put your mind to it you *know* you can be as productive as you need as regards the rest of your work.

Long train journeys - a book and an ipod.......heaven indeedy.
