    Hi Seax and Hypno
I totally understand about housework. We have just been staying at a lovely farm house in Devon for the week. Of course everything is clean and tidy when you arrive. The thing was BECAUSE it was so clean to start with, keeping it that way was easy. When I got home I was truely horrified about how DIRTY my house is, yet I thought it was ok. So now I am faced with getting it clean (though OH was a star yesterday and hoovered the two boys rooms as we were installing the free cabin bed from freecycle), and it is SO daunting.

On top of this I HAVE to get ebaying as otherwise all the stupid buys I made when I was very depressed will have to go to the charity shop in their bags (ie brand new), when we move. It is not losing the money that will hurt it is the acknowledgement that I couldn't motivate myself to get the items listed.

So even though I am not working Seax at the moment, I totally understand the 'what to do first' problem. And what I am going to do when I have finished writing this, is to go and do SOMETHING. Because doing one thing today will mean that I haven't wasted the day. So pick something, anything to do and you will be doing better than if you think 'there is so much to do I can't do anything'.

I hope you understand what I mean. Sometimes making the decision even if it turns out to be the wrong decision, is the important thing.

Right off to do my bath room:eek:

Ahh Seax sorry to see you having problems with work again...there are some good ideas above.I agree with Chevs way of thinking in that doing at least one thing is better than doing nothing.
If its any help I spend so much time thinking about doing something that I could have completed the task in the time that I think about it.IYSWIM...
Hope DHs pay is good and helps you out

Well I am pleased to say that I cleaned the bathroom took me an hour:eek:   ! I am so embarassed I let it get that horrible. It didn't look too bad until you noticed things like the half cm of dust on the window sill. And I have asthma so how silly is that.

I feel, well not proud, but ok about doing it, only thing was that I managed to break the shower head! Doh. I knew this cleaning lark was dangerous!!!

How did your day go Seax?

Oh and Taxi there is another cabby on here who might welcome your input, (busy mate or something like that) I have directed him to your thread

hey Chev - I broke (well, OH did) the shower head when cleaning it lol!

One easy way I do is get face wipes on offer, then morning and evening, after I've used them and rinsed it, I wipe down a surface in the bathroom (any surface) - this makes it so much easier! Might not help lol

Hope you've had a good day Seaxwyn.

Hi all and thanks everyone for your interesting and encouraging posts!

Karmacat, I studied that chart and will think more about it. I have real difficulty distinguishing between boxes one to three I think, and definitely spend far too much time on Box Four.

Chev, well done cleaning the bathroom. You are so right, it is better to do SOMETHING than just sit and stew over doing nothing.

Today I got a minimal amount of work done and arranged to work at the client's office tomorrow, so I will have to concentrate. This means I have to pay a rail fare and childcare all because I can't concentrate on my own home. Stupid!

I also gave in to temptation and made a 77p overpayment on my credit card! OH's pay was £1584, which is less than in Nov and Dec. He says they've changed him onto another system where he will get some holiday pay, so that's good I suppose.

While in town I spotted an ad for a part-time website writer at a local company, salary range 20-28k pro rata. I'll look into that. Might be worth doing if the hours are flexible enough to accommodate my frelance work as well.

    Oh and another thing....

My Abbey CC bill this month included £2.16 interest - even though I always pay it off in full every month. So I rang them and the Customer Services chap told me it was "their error" and refunded it. But I'm not impressed - how often do they make these errors, and do people normally notice?

The service from Abbey has been absolute pants and I'm not going to use that card any more now the 5% cashback promotion has finished. I'm just keeping all my empty cards open til my 0% deal ends on my Egg card (May I think), then I'll make them compete to transfer the balance.

Hi Seaxwyn! :o:o:o You're having difficulty with the boxes cos I put "not" in Box one, and it shouldn't have been there :o:o:o I've just seen it and edited it.

Mind you, in desperation,Chev's thing is the right one: get something done. Anything. It will stop you getting complete paralysis if you just do *something*.

What a pain about all the expenses tomorrow. In the longer term, I guess its worth it to keep the contact and the workflow, but horrible to have to do it.

The website writer sounds *really* interesting, good luck if you go for it.

Hi Seax, I hope you are successful with the website job - it could get that balance working really well.

I agree about errors made by banks etc - how many go through unnoticed that they are benefitting from - I am sure I have never had one in MY favour!

Thanks Karma, it makes a lot more sense without that 'not'.

We've got a leak and need to call a plumber out. :( The leak is under DD3's bed and lots of her precious treasures (OK old notebooks and bus tickets - she likes this kind of thing) are ruined. OH huffing and puffing but it's hardly her fault.

DDs1&2 are doing their media studies homework, which requires long stretches of time spent on OH's computer (mine doesn't have photoshop, scanner and all the fancy stuff). This again makes him huff and puff. As they are both set on doing Art and Graphics GCSEs I think we will need to get another computer.

I've found the details of that job online. It is writing marketing copy for a cookery company! Well I guess I could turn my hand to that. The ad stresses that the hours are flexible and they need someone who can work independently (uh oh!) I will apply and see what happens.

When I took a part-time local job before it proved a mistake as the hours were inflexible so I missed out on more lucrative freelance work. But if I could manage a combination of the two that could be the ideal situation. Thanks for the warning Taxi, I will be careful to avoid taking on too much. But I do need to work full-time really, and I'm so lucky with freelance work that a combination of employment and freelance does seem the best way forward.

Right, better try and do some of the work I've been successfully avoiding all day.
