Are you ok Seaxwyn..did you find the car keys?..guess you are busy with the pile of work that you mentioned a few days ago. Will catch you soon.
Chev what can I say? ...I really can't believe what they are doing to you it's a disgrace(to put it mildly)...hope you get your letter sent off and get it sorted..what a horrible stress for you...take care xx0 -
Chev that is really awful and so undeserved.
I wish there was something we could do. Could we come and wave placards outside the insurance company offices? Do you want a second opinion on whether the letter is too emotional? I'd be more than happy to read it and suggest where it needs toning down, if applicable.
Well the car keys are still missing. OH has searched every inch of the house, garden and street outside. I can't bring myself to accept they are really lost as it is going to cost hundreds to sort out. We have to hire a truck to take the car to the garage, break a window to get it onto the truck, then pay something like £250 to have all four locks and the ignition changed. We are both gutted.
My work picture is not looking too healthy either. My main contracts are winding down or coming to an end so I need to put some effort into getting new work. I wish I felt more upbeat but the few things that have been mentioned have made my heart sink rather.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Sorry that the car keys have not turned up - I know the stress it caused us when OH lost his passport on the day he should take the children to France. It must be even worse when it is something that NEVER goes missing!
As for the work thing, well, you can only do what you have to do - if you want to remain self employed then you will need to go out and actively seek new contracts, and if you want to be employed then get searching the job sites on line. But of course no one can tell you what you should do - your heart will tell you that.
As for extra money - have you tried the free bingo sites yet? There is certainly easy money to be made there (bloomin boring, but still easy) which will help in some way or other, (even if you keep it and convert it to euros for skiing!).
I hope the keys turn up soon, and that you can reach a decision about where you are going to head workwise.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thanks Hypno. I'm going to look for more freelance writing/editing work. I do want to do something different but now isn't the right time to change. I have a good track record as a freelancer and I could never get a job paying as much as I can earn freelance, so I have to stick with it.
I haven't tried the free bingo sites, I'm really nervous about them and the possibility of making a mistake, and I don't have any appetite for yet more online activity. One thing I could increase is my Amazon selling as we have lots of books - I could combine listing books with space clearing and making more room on DD & DS's room.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Poor seax sorry the keys haven't showed up yet!!..I was so hoping that they would as that sounds a total pain in the a..e...just had another thought (maybe stupid...but can DH think back to the day he last had them..if so he may have put them in his pocket..then nipped to a shop etc without the car put the keys on the counter while he got his money out of his pocket...and not put them back in his pocket...I speak from experience as I've had mine in my pocket and not taken the car walked to the bank took them out of pocket put on counter then forget to pick them up...after frantic searching at home gone back and found them handed in..sorry if its daft..he may have nipped to sainsburys or such...
As for your work I agree with Hypno you are the only one who knows whats right for you in your heart so I wish you luck...did you think anymore of joining up with your sister?0 -
and hopefully while having a bit of an amazon blitz, you will move whatever it is that is currently hiding OH car keys!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

HI taxi,
yes we have reconstructed his movements in the 3 hours during which the keys disappeared. He went to the post office to post a parcel but we have asked there and they didn't find them. I am convinced they are somewhere in the house though and while we have searched and searched, I will have another hunt on Tuesday when I will be in the house all day so can turn it upside down without getting distracted.
I don't think it makes sense to go into business with my sister. But a designer I know has proposed doing a joint promotion offering our combined services - we have worked together for three different clients so that's worth pursuing. I need to write a brochure and a webpage advertising us then think about where to send it.
There are a few clients I have worked for in the past who I should contact to remind them I still exist. It's always worked out before so I'm not going to panic just yet.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Re work, no need to panic, just to be proactive - you know you can get the work, you just have to go out there and get it!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
