I'm less than 7 weeks, and didn't realise that you could feel this bad so early.
Ooh, Michelle, expect you're having a girl this time then. Morning sickness usually means that - all the extra oestrogen in your system! How did your work people take the news? My sickness with DD2 started week 7 through to week 11ish - think that's quite a standard timescale actually.0 -
with DD i was sick from week 3 (i thought i had food poisoning!!) to week 19!! i had a lovely green colour for weeks!! i'm only having boys from now on!0

Sorry to spoil the fun, but I've had 2 boys and a girl and I threw up every morning from about 5 weeks with each one
It did settle each time once I got to about 3-4 months though, so not all bad. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Well as you know I've had no sickness just nausea and I am convinced we are having another boy, so you never know!
Michelle are you going to find out? We are, our scan is on 8 October so not much longer to go now.
Another crap night curtesy of Jack. He woke at 2am and refused to go back to sleep, I thought I had him cracked at 3am as he didn't scream when I left the room and I could hear him fiddling with his toys, it was quiet for a good 20 mins and we thought he'd gone to sleep. OH NO......he was still awake and couldn't get back so he started to cry we left him for a bit, but in the end I said to DH he was probably thirsty by now, so I go some water and had to cuddle him back to sleep which took me to 4am. Me back to bed and unable to get back myself until gone 4.30am. We both slept past the alarm, typical as DH wanted to be out the door with Jack by 7.30am. We didn't emerge until then and we had to wake Jack up for his milk so they could go.
I know I did the wrong thing by cuddling him back to sleep but even DH, who is usually better than me when he cries in the night, said that was a particular hard cry to listen to. Its also harder at night, there is no distraction from it like in the day. You are all upstairs together! It upsets me but I try to be tough but I can't last more than 5-10 mins and probably Jack knows that. Usually a dummy sorts him out but last night, no way, I don't think it was pain as he would have cried all the time he was awake and he didn't, only when I left the room. Babies...!!
Jack has gone to DH's parents today, its on route to DH's work so that's why he left so early, so they have their brekkie there. I am going birthday shoping with my brother so no chance for a rest we'll be out all day.
In fact just noticed the time, now Im going to be late!
Bye for now.

Yeah, do think it's a bit of an old wives tale, but certainly I was sick with both my girls and of my closest friends who have had babies, none of them were sick with the boys, only the girls. I just googled it and found this quite old article.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night Bay. My 4yo DD woke up at 5am and turned on her lullaby cd which woke us all up including Isabel. So I've been up 6 hours already today and feeling pretty jaded too. You have my sympathies - at least I don't have to go shopping!! I do have an afternoon of both DDs though as have to pick DD1 up from school shortly, only there half day today. Wish me luck!0 -
I've had two boys and had no sickness with either of them. Guess I'd better have a girl now to test the theory properly!

Funny you all saying that as among the people i know who have babies, those with girls have had worse sickness and indigestion, and someone at work said the same thing.
I'm not bothered what we are having. A girl would be nice to have one of each, but we aren't fussed. I will probably find out when we have the 2nd scan but i don't know if i would dare believe them. All the babies in my family are boys, so it would be spoilt rotten if it were.
Anway, people i told at work were really pleased for me, but i haven't told my head of faculty and he can be a pain. I booked an appointment to tell the head next tuesday. so i'd best get my plans for mat leave sorted by then to vaguely tell him.
I have got away with scoffing biccies all day as a boy in my form declared today as biscuit day and brought biccies in to share. I may make that an annual thing as it was a really lovely idea.
Charlie has gone to bed an hour early tonight and DH is away, so i am going to have quick freezer food for dinner, browse on here and watch 'enders, and then a lovely early night as he will probably now wake at 5, but better than the battle i was having tonight to keep him awake.

I was sick from 3 weeks with Alice but until we had the scan I was convinced we were having a boy as loads of people had told us they'd been really sick with their sons. I've been feeling really sick this last week and I can't work out whether it's the cold I've got or whether it's just psychological because it was this time last year that I was at my worst with the sickness.0

Charlotte is 20 weeks old today!
She's been hungrier and waking earlier, so I had a go with weaning on Thursday and yesterday. She's just having a few spoonfuls of baby rice and apple after her tea time bottle, but she's really enjoying it and back to sleeping as normal now. Here I go again on my own....0
