This looks pretty similar to this one I noticed in the Tchibo catalogue today. If the link stops working go to the Tchibo home page and search for high chair (2 words) - it only costs £35. Seems quite a good deal.0 -

My eldest son had a bad bum like this. The best cure was getting as much fresh air on it as possible.
I know it's going to be hard on holiday, but if she can have a nap or a kick about with a bare bum on a folded towel or one of those big nappy pads, it will help clear it up.Here I go again on my own....0 -

Thanks Becles.
She went nappy free all day today until we went to drs. It had started to look slightly less angry until the nappy went back on again. Took it off to show doc and it was blood red again.
Fortunately there should be good opportunity to get the nappy off on holiday as we do a lot of lazing by the pool - will find a nice sheltered shady area for her and get that nappy off.0 -
We're also off to France on Wednesday morning (6th). :j We're staying at my uncle's place near Sarlat. Our first ever family holiday - Imogen is now 5 1/2months - so if anyone has any tips for things to take / not take that'd be great. We've a strict Ryanair luggage limit so am hoping to pack light - ha!
The bungalow is very well kitted out with all sorts of stuff you wouldn't normally expect in a holiday let, but do have at home, so we're keeping our fingers crossed. He does rent it out so if you're interested (or just want to see where we're staying!) here's the link - http://www.dordognehomes.com/view_property.asp?pid=23455
We'll be buying a blender when we get there and leaving it at the house when we leave. She's on 3 meals a day so we need to keep up with making her stuff. Just taking a few jars in the hand luggage and will sort the rest when we get there.
On highchairs, think we've decided on the Chicco Happy Snack. It's currently 10% off at Boots plus you get about 500 advantage points.
BTW - Boots have a great baby sale online at the mo', not sure if it's the same in store but lots on 3 for 2 and 10% (or more) off inc. car seats, highchairs and baby basics. :money:MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
I have recently done a couple of things that are really moneysaving...
I've been washing the disposable nappy liners (in with the nappies in a lingerie bag) - only if they're wet though, the dirty ones get flushed down the toilet.
I've also been handwashing the disposable swimming nappy (when I've been doing other handwashing). I originally got them unbranded from Home Bargains and wasn't sure about the quality. However, after having washed one nappy six times so far (pegged out on line to dry) I can definitely say they're fine!
I prefer to think of it as being more ecologically friendly than being a tightwad! The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
That's amazing, I had no idea you could wash disposable swimming nappies!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

i too didnt know you could wash swim nappies, i too have the ones from home bargains and sometimes feel that they are on for such a short time that they arnt always "used". What do you wash them in? Do they smell clean after. Are they not like a normal disposable with that gel stuff in (maybe not or the pool water would swell it up)
Anyone else tried washingthem, how many times would you wash and use again0 -

I wash them in Lakeland's Lavender wool mix liquid (which is soap free and ph neutral) when I'm doing other handwashing. The nappies don't swell up, and I peg them out to drip dry.
It was one of my friends (mother of 3) who told me to try it - she's had one pack of the Home Bargains swim nappies last for her youngest - who is now 2!:money:The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
Hi everyone,
Sorry i've only just caught up with the last 3 pages of this thread, what a lot of events there has been, new babies (Congratulations), severe nappy rash, guzzling food monkeys!!!!
Unfortunately mine isn't one of them. I thought our third attempt at weaning was going well for about a week, then this week gone including today its gone downhill severly. We are still on pureed fruit and veg mixed with baby rice/baby mash or baby cereal to give it more flavour. He is now 6 1/2 months old. He is absolutely refusing to open his mouth when before he was to a degree or you could slide the spoon in sideways. Today it was totally lips clamped shut. In desperation I tried banana which was always a fave and he did take a few spoonfuls, but tomorrow I just don't know what to give him, he can't live on banana surely!!!
I am also worried that he will then only take sweet and not savoury. I am gutted I have so many different ice cubes in my freezer that I have lovingly made and he won't eat them. I feel like giving in again but he needs to start eating, he'll be 7 months in 12 days time.
I try not to get stressed in front of him, I go into the kitchen and let off steam.
This morning for instance he had red pepper mixed with sweet potato with one teaspoon of baby rice and one of baby mash. It was the same consistency as normal and he gagged on it, so much so he was sick then refused anything else. I think this put him off his afternoon solids as he absolutely refused to open up, until I bribed him with my finger stuck in banana.
This is really bothering me now. He is not interested in finger food either I have tried.
I seem to have the only baby who doesn't care less about food. He drinks about 20-26 oz of milk a day.
Arghhhhh, i am tired so this seems like a big deal right now. I am fed up of tipping my lovingly made food in the bin. I am tempted to try jars but I don't want him to get used to them, I have some but only intend on using them now and again.
One question i do have he is still on first stage milk and I guess I will move him onto second stage soon due to the iron. But when do I introduce meat and how, assuming he does decide to ever open his mouth.
I am also wondering about other proteins too, I have heard low iron levels can seriously affect their development and sleep.
Sorry for the whinge, thanks for listening.

hi, baby should go on to step 2 (or 3 in some cases) at 6 months as the lower milks don't have iron in them.
chicken is a good first meat as it's quite tasteless. i grilled it then boiled it up with a few veggies and hm stock (no salt) and pureed it up, it's a bit watery so i mixed it with baby rice to make it thicker, and she wolfed it down.
don't worry about the feeding, baby will eat when he's hungry. my baby is also eating less this last week, but she is teething (2 through and 3 on the way  )and she's also bothered by the heat and i think this has something to do with it.
also be a bit adventurous with the purees, try mixing in come vanilla or cinammon to fruit, or try mixing savoury and sweet. butternut squash and pear is nice together or chicken and grape or apple and pork-you get the picture, he might be bored with just veggies on their own.
