All of that sounds normal for a 1 month old to me, not like 'problems'! Elliot is almost 16 weeks and his sleep is all over the place, feeds are unpredictable, and he can dribble and posset as if in competition!
Sorry SB, if I was your SIL and I read that I'd feel a little hurt0 -
I'd thank your lucky stars that you've got a lovely easy baby and not tempt fate any further
:rotfl:
I remember thinking the same thing myself when I had Olivia. She slept through from 6 weeks, always fed well. Hardly knew we had her!
Then we had Isabel :eek::rotfl:
Just goes to show that it's nothing you do as a parent, just depends on the child. Izzy's 15 months, still an erratic sleeper, took ages to wean successfully (although she's a superstar eater now so no worries there).
I've seen lots of my friends experience the same thing where number 2 baby evens out the score (including the opposite way round where the second one is very easy - so don't worry Bailey!!)0 -

I did say sorry for being wingeyand also the problems 'others' have, not just my nephew, its just that yesterday brought it all to a head. Its more about my irrational fear than anything else, not a poke or a brag. So, I'm going to get over myself today and enjoy my little girl
.
Sorry I posted my feelings

Thanks, Purple, I really do thank my lucky stars every day! :rotfl:.

Don't apologise, that's not what I meant:grouphug:. I can relate to what you're saying - I waited for Elliot to have colic, then relfux, or problems breastfeeding, etc etc but they didn't come and I keep thinking - am I being naive about this parenting lark? Then he decided to start teething  :rotfl:
I just meant that your nephew sounds normal! You're very lucky with Poppy's skin - Elliot is as smooth as, well, a baby, but he did get baby acne at around 4 weeks, there's a complete lack of photos around then!
Oh, and he's just learnt to scream - short, sharp, and very high pitched, and he looks like he's having a great time when he does it :eek:0 -
Purplepatch, you second guessed my thoughts when you said that. I was thinking "oh no, oh no................". I'd love a baby like SB this time around, think we had our fair share with Jack. Lovely lad he is though, myhusband keeps saying to me " But look at his personality and the way he is with people, that more than makes up for everything else, I'd rather have Jack than a baby who never smiled and interacted like ***** baby.". He's right but I'm longing for an easier ride this time.
And yes still here, slept bit better last night, runs less frequent but still happening. I've decided my system isn't tolerating food that well, i'm sure some of my discomfort when lying down is food as the only time I feel better is in the early hours of the morning and before Jack wakes. So i'm going to eat less and drink more of my prescription milkshakes to ease up on my system. This morning I could still taste and was burping (sorry TMI) the soup I had at lunch yesterday, so I think that is the problem.
SB don't worry about posting your feelings, that's what we are all here for, but I know its easy to read things the wrong way when your feeling sensitive. I can relate to your SIL baby re feeding and sleeping, although Jack never had any skin problems until 4 months and no sticky eye etc, but I BADLY want to relate to you too. Fingers crossed....
Becles, i'd be tempted to do what you did and possible go one step further and take the packet back to Tesco (after using a few more nappies of course as you couldn't get there on a sunday!). I had a problem with some of tesco's purple nappies, in one packet quite a few had a side tab completely missing. I must admit I did use a few more of the ok ones before taking it back and getting a new packet. Think it must have been a dodgy batch as I had the same problem. Left it a few days for the batch to be sold and restocked then tried again, all the time using the nappies that were ok. Finally third time lucky.
Right must go and have a shower. Didn't get a chance before DH left and Jack is napping. I have the reflexologist around today to fine tune my system and if possible persuade madam to put in an appearance. I saw her about 10 days ago and she said unfortunately it didn't feel like she was ready, then last Wednesday Mum had a treatment (as a thank you from Jack and I) and I happened to be around and she offered (for free) to top up my hormone points and said this time things felt more positive. But if nothing had happened by Monday she would come back for a quick top up again and doesn't want paying. That's so kind of her and gives me hope about what is happening or not. She lives only a few mins away anyway and its good for her business as I keep recommending her!
Have a good monday all.
Michelle, feeling any better today? I keep telling myself when the baby is born I can't have any less sleep than what I'm getting right now and i'll be able to move and bend again without getting so breathless.0 -
Sorry to hear you two are struggling. Hope baby arrives soon bailey, and that you get some relief soon cha97michelle xx
Got a question to ask - am I sad or a savvy MSE'er?
I put Charlottes nappy on earlier and one of the tabs that fastens it shut tore off. So I improvised and sellotaped her into the nappy.
Hubby thinks I'm sad and for the sake of about 4p I should have just chucked it and put a fresh nappy on.
What would you have done?Well at least it stayed there then, and I got, ooh, a couple of hours of wear from it instead of binning it straight away.
DS1 was looking at me completely bewildered throughout this, probably thinking, "Mummy's officially bonkers now!" :rotfl:0 -
Now that I wouldn't have thought of.....
Didn't he get a bit warm down there?0 -

Didn't he get a bit warm down there? The nappies are so thin these days that it didn't even look too silly (and we were home all this time so it's not like anyone saw us...)
Okay I probably shouldn't have admitted this on a public forum:lipsrseal
