Glad things are getting better CG.

Does anyone elses baby have a fascination with other people's drinks?

Charlotte keeps trying to grab whatever we are drinking and wants to have a sip. I have to be careful with hot coffee now in case she grabs it and spills it on herself. I like strong coffee with no sugar in, so I tried letting her have a tiny sip of cool coffee thinking the taste would put her off doing it, but she loved it and wanted more

She was on my husbands knee yesterday and was going mad to drink out of a Fosters can, but he didn't let her have any!
Here I go again on my own....

    Well that's just mean...:D ;):p :rotfl:

Seriously though, Natasha will hardly drink anything at all unless it comes out of me, so I think it's brilliant that she's so adventurous!

Fac - I had PND with my DS, and it's truly horrible. If you are feeling low, please go and talk to your GP, because there's no need to try and put a brave face on or suffer in silence. Or talk to the health visitor if it's easier. And if you need to talk, you know we are here. xxx

Thanks for everyone's advice. :) We had a slightly better night last night, probably due to my old friend Medised. I gave Alex the full dose, and he swallowed most of it (even with a syringe, it's so tricky to get medicine down little babies!), so he slept quite well the first half of the night. He became a bit unsettled when it wore off about 4-ish and I couldn't face faffing about with the syringe again so in he came into our bed and snored his little head off. :o

I'll try Snufflebabe, thanks. And I've actually got that snot sucking thingy, Purple! Alex had a cold a couple of months ago as well but I couldn't get any of the snot out with it - I'm obviously not doing it right. :o Will give it another go.

If anyone wants to buy it BTW, Tesco sell it for under a fiver. No point buying it off the net for £6-7. ;)

Becles, wow Charlotte is brave! :T I hate the taste of coffee so I can't believe a baby would like it!!! :rotfl:

I've had Medised for Natasha's cold(s) too and she absolutely detested the taste. I don't know how 'bad' this is, but I ended up mixing a spoonful of Medised with a crushed biscotti and a little bit of breast milk, and fed it her off a spoon. She took it no problem that way.

I'm sure there's probably a good reason why I shouldn't have done this (sugar content?) but i couldn't bear to see her in pain. :(

I've found you have to insert it quite firmly into the nostril, I remember the first time I used it I tried to do it gently as she was so little and it was quite unsuccessful. But now that she's a robust one year old and I'm not scared of breaking her anymore lol, I managed to get shedloads of the horrible stuff out!!!

I've got really painful sinusitus still lingering after this latest bout of colds and I'm seriously tempted to try some self drainage with it :rotfl::o:o

I can't really see any problems with that Snaggles, if it gets it down her. Izzy gagged on Medised too then spat it all out, so I went back to calpol. I might well try your trick next time.

When my Medised runs out though, I'll probably get the new Calpol Night medicine which seems to be the same stuff, but hopefully has the same taste as Calpol.

Well I've tried Medised myself and it does taste quite horrible. I might mix it with some breastmilk, thanks for the tip! :)

DS1 is a complete baby medicine junkie so he'll take anything no problem. It was funny when I was giving Alex his Medised last night and suddenly a little voice pipes up, "Mummy, I'm not feeling well either. I have a sore throat... and head... and tummy!" Nice try!

Anyway, am feeling all broody now as a neighbour has just had a little baby boy. :o

I'd never heard of the Calpol Night medicine before, thanks for that PP, I'll try that next time too.

Ooh, thanks for the info about the new Calpol - sounds good. Hope Tesco will sell it too and then I don't have to go to the chemists for the Medised.
