OP
You may have grounds for complaint BUT not because there was to few Brits in the hotel. You were in Turkey.
I went to Sri Lanka a few years back and there was only us and one other couple from the UK in the hotel but it didnt make any difference to us.
Did the the tour operator say there would be english speaking entertainers or english speaking kiddy club reps (altho i think you said there was one)0 -

well this is a subscribe if ever I have seen one.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

I certainly wouldnt be happy if the 3 rooms Id been offered were dirty so I cant understand why anyone is sticking up for TC or the hotel.
However , this situ happens mostly when you dont do your research , or leave it till after you have booked.
There are plenty of reviews on Tripadvisor and most indicate that this hotel is predominately "non Brits" clientèle.
The reviews are mixed though some good, some bad
Heres a couple of pictures. I reckon my children could have made the most of those facilities , childrens club or not0 -
your post is very difficult to follow. Do you have a copy of the complaint you sent? The letter should be concise, with the main complaints only and you should tell them what you expect to be the outcome of the complaint.
For instance, if transfers were not included in the paperwork then there is nothing you can do. Quite often, last minute deals turn out to be not such a great deal as things like transfers are not often included. Unfortunately this often catches folks out. You really can't complain about lack of English holidaymakers I'm afraid. I'm not sure when you arrived at your hotel as you stated it was 3am at the airport AND 3am when you arrived at your hotel. You will need to look at how many nights you paid for. It could be that your last minute deal did not include that night.
Taking photos of the condition of your room was a good thing to do. Just make sure you only send copies( although you probably knew that).Did you complete a complaint form while you were there? ( although you already have proof that you made complaints).
It does sound like the room standard was unacceptable and from your description it does sound horrific. Can we see the photos?
This doesn't help you now but perhaps to salvage your holiday you may have been better to move but to have it in writing that you are moving under protest and do not agree that the standard is what you paid for, and that you will be looking for compensation.
One more thing- why couldn't your daughter attend the kids' club? Was she specifically told she couldn't?
I'm really sorry you had a horrible holiday. If you can perhaps summarise your main complaints here( once you feel calm enough) then perhaps we can help a bit more.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -

Hi,
Just because a ta promotes a hotel - doesn't mean that the hotel will speak good english .... but you did have a rep who spoke english???

Hi
Did the the tour operator say there would be English speaking entertainers or English speaking kiddie club reps (although I think you said there was one)
Yeah in the brochure was printed kids club, and evening entertainment for children/adults. I haven't focused too much on the language barrier thing it's more the fact where me & my child waited 2 hrs after arriving early hrs in the morning then no room and being put out with hotel grounds to filthy acc. then again 2nd time same thing and no one taking responsibilities the hotel promotes itself as a 5* TC 4*........ The no brits things isn’t really the issue it's just another thing
I was actually told by the on line chat I was going to the sister hotel the Turan World.... this had on site aqua park & amusements on site massive complex but I should have picked this up at then time of booking when I read my summary report hence I only booked Sun pm I received my summary report from the Mon where i picked up no break down of transfers.... seemingly the rep/employee at airport said when late booking is done there is no break down on the summary report so clients would not know on way or the other about what's included unless the double check0 -

Why couldn't your daughter use the kid's club? Your only way of claiming for this was if the hotel refused to allow her (without a suitable reason) and if the travel agent included a kid's club under your package.
Was the mobile phone bill due to charges your mobile company makes for incoming calls and text messages whilst aboard? If so, whilst you could try to claim using the fact you would not have needed to receive those calls if the hotel hadn't been crap, you are unlikely to get anything back.
I found the bit about the star rating a bit confusing. You were in a 4* and got offered a room in a 3*, tbh I would have taken it and if you had you might have been in a position to claim for a partial refund but as you didn't forget it.
Entertainment in English - I can understand why you would want this but unless the travel agent said that the entertainment would be in English, you cannot claim. Some Thompson packages do say English entertainment so check the brochure.
Your only real claim could be the state of the rooms and poor customer service. If you have photos send copies of these along with a concise, unemotional letter and you should be able to claim.
Next time, make sure you check the small print, especially on entrainment, and also reviews before booking. Many hotels are mainly British if you look in the more popular European countries (Spain, Italy, Portugal) or alternatively choose an English speaking country.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -

I understand what your saying to be fair, my issue is not big time about the language barrier other people on this forum are making this out. It's more the time waiting for a room, the condition's we were put in 1st time around and also the complex is all security barriered off we were put out with the complex upon arrival. Then put into a 2nd dirty room which we were given the key before even getting to the room and told it was dirty just to put our stuff in then was suppose to be cleaned and it was'nt. Then eventually removed to a 3rd room. If you would PM me you email I will send over letter of complaint & photo's then you will know where I'm coming from0
