:T Well obviously a lot smarter than you. I'm not the one complaining there was no 'English' entertainment in Turkey. :rotfl:0 -

In situations such as this you have a legal obligation to mitigate your loss. TC offered you a way to do this and you have refused.0 -

Eh you ingnorant person I was on holiday for first time myself with a 10 yr old child. Why do you go on holiday for a break to meet people if there's no one who understands you and your local holiday company are promoting the hotel you do expect your some of your own nationality there. So get a grip and be resonable,,,, if you can be do not leave any further quotes:mad:0 -

I'm afraid that it's you that's being unreasonable. Many of us would be appalled if we went abroad and found the hotel to be full of Brits and the entertainment was in English.
I think you would've been happier in Blackpool.0 -
Firstly I think you are the ignorant person....expecting everyone to speak 'your' language. Secondly I go on holiday to enjoy myself, if that includes meeting people I do so. Being reasonable I don't expect that if I go to a foreign country that everyone can speak English like!!! I have been to Turkey 5 times and have met many different nationalities...myself and my child have never had a problem mixing with others. Children are so much better at this and just get on with it.....whether there is a common language or not.
And as you already said......some of your own nationality were there - 8 people. Did you mix with these people? How did they view the holiday? It may have been a little naive of you to think that just because a 'local' tour operator (TC I assume is Thomas Cook) sold this hotel that it would be predominately English. Though I'd hardly call Thomas Cook 'local'.
Another good idea is to look for reviews before booking any future holidays. Tripadvisor is a good place to start. If this was the Hotel Turan Prince Residence in Side there a plenty of reviews to chose from.
And as this is a public forum I shall continue to post whenever I wish.0 -
Ok - so your 2 main complaints are that the rooms were not clean & that the entertainment was not in English.
Well the first you might be able to do something about - did you complain in resort - did you complete a form, did you take photos, etc.
2nd one - well unless tc told you that entertainment was meant to be english, then I don't see you have much chance with that.
So focus on dirt & mobile phone bill.
