what do you guys use for mopping the floor.
i've used a few things but i haven't found one yet i am happy with.
please give me ideas ...
I have never found one I'm happy with either so I ignore the arthritis in my knees and get down on the floor with a bucket of water and stardrops and a microfibre cloth.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

The sinks are still shiny though ............
Back to it tomorrow!
Erm - me too, only without the paperwork!:o I am a bad, bad girl! Only flying I have done today is emptying dishwasher, vacuuming downstairs, paying a few bills and cooking dinner. The ironing mountain has got clouds around the peak!! I seem to do one-day-on, one-day-off at the moment - this won't do at all! Still, that means an "on" day tomorrow, hopefully.....[0 -
I gave up with those fancy mops, bought a vileda one and a few spare heads, then I bung them in the washing machine when ewwy! I tried dozens before that, inc those with the wringer built in and they all broke/fell to bits. I also do the on hands and knees scrubbing regular aswell.
A friend swears by this system http://www.drclean.co.uk/Retail_DrClean/ACT.asp but it's a bit too expensive for me.
Bedrooms tomorrow, well the jobs listed will be fine, leaving the toys until the kids go back to school. Think I will strip the boys beds first thing and get the boys to help doing that. Need to get them helping a little more. DP on lates tonight so will have to leave mine until last. Only problem I can see with this is getting all the bedding dryseeing as the weather is awful at the minute. I'll add the bedrooms to my list tonight when I do it. All three PC desks do need doing so will add that too. Fling boogies going to try to involve the kids again.
One day I might be more organised...........

Am I too late to join in with this? I'm hopeless at housework yet aspire to have a tidy, clean, uncluttered house!
Bit difficult with a 19month old and OH in the house!Especially since Christmas, with all the new toys to be scattered on the floor and played with. (Thank you grandparent who bought the entire village of LIttle Tykes....)
So if everyone's ok with it - can I join in this late, pleeease?0 -

Mice_Elf never too late to join, the lists aren't just one off jobs, it's about being more organised etc, can start at any time, the lists will come round again soon enough, welcome
I would get yourself to Ikea/Tesco/Wilkinsons or somewhere else that does cheap storage boxes before you break your neck on the toys! Just invested in some more myself for the boys rooms, I paid less than £1 each for the last ones, and made our own labels on the PC inc pictures on them for little DS who can't read, makes things much easier, I know where things go and so do they. Need to do some labels for the new ones actually.
One day I might be more organised...........

i'm sure moggins will answer this as well, but of course you can join! its just a bunch of people trying to get their houses sorted. i only came on board a couple of days ago, so i've missed a couple of lists, but i am sure i can look back and do them at some point!

I went back to work yesterday and last night I just crashed. Managed to do 2 loads washing, made soup and bread. Made sandwiches for kids lunch today. Was whacked though. Today have done a washing. Got kids to do some of the kitchen. Cooked dinner.Caught up with ironing, will put it away when I go to bed. Although I doubt I will manage all the jobs this is the tidiest I have managed to keep my house for ages and the hot spots are staying clear so I will continue to try and keep up.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
well, i didn't realise quite how yukky my bathroom was! its a nasty old avocado suite with old tiles so its never gonna be perfect, but i feel like its the best its ever been! even took a knife round the base of the taps to get rid of the limescale and black yuk.
so,
*deep-cleaned bathroom (used up some old cillit bang that was in the cupboard) not quite as bad as the other poster (forget who it was!) but i am determined not to buy any shower gel/ scrub/ soap/ etc until i've used all the bottles i have!
*took xmas cards down, in bag ready for recycling
*27 (well, lost count) fling boogie - 2 bags ready for charity shop
*dw stacked, will turn on when ec7 starts!
*emptied bins, put rubbish and recycling out
*swapped old dodgy mobile to spare one
* done hotspot in bedroom
before bed need to:
fold up washing that's now dry
put washing away
pack bag for weekend away
sort out selling 3 mobiles i have lying around
got to be up early (for me!) tomorrow, as physio appt at 9.30, and need shower, hair wash etc before that.
thanks ladies, i;m enjoying this. quiet at work at the moment though, not sure what it'll be like when it gets busy again.....Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
I find the best thing for round the taps and under the loo (between loo and flooring eww!) is a toothbrush, DPs comes in handy ( his old one of course, unless he's been naughty then I may be tempted to use his current one
) I keep all used old toothbrushes for cleaning jobs
One day I might be more organised...........
