Sorry i missed your post,i have a first grandchild,a little girl, born on the 12th, so have not been on the forum a lot.dexstroyer wrote: »Morning amersall, what do you think of my response from Direct group, is this usual?
There is a time limit on it at least stating I'll get a reply in 5 working days but just suprised they've sent me back to welcome!
But i am getting on more now x..0 -
Dont understand why the insurer has passed you to Welcome????.dexstroyer wrote: »Hello,
From the calculations post you mention FSCS, I presume the 5 days Welcome have in order to reply to me will involve another form to fill out and send to the FSCS? (How do they differ from the FOS)
How does this process work and what is involed, is it a common route?
I have just read from the FSCS website;
If your claim relates to a policy sold before 14 January 2005, you should contact the firm directly and it will process your claim
Mine is from 20.08.2001...and now I'm confused....maybe I should just wait and see what Welcome write and say.
Sorry for all the questions but you have the knowledge! :T
See what Welcome back with and we will take this from there.0 -

i have 2 claims against welcome at the moment, one is from 2007 and the other is from 2004, both are being dealt with by FSCS and apparantly anything that is paid will be the original amount of the ppi plus interest minus 10%, as they are only paying 90% of the amount back.
Im not sure if this applies to your claims to but this is the information that i have been given.0 -

Nice,
Thankyou,
What communication have you had from the broker or welcome?
Do you think welcome will refer me to the FSCS?Starting debt - £19,774.42 Remaining debt - £9,262.92

as i am going thro the company i send them their application form for their service, they then contact welcome and i get the FSCS application form followed by the letter confirming that they are processing it and i will hear within 30 working days. Nothing further yet but the 30 days is not yet up.
as i understand it FSCS have staff from welcome dealing with the claims and they also have an email address you can write to claimanthelp@cattles.co.uk (this is for advice relating to FSCS application) but they might be able to advice you if you need any in, however ive not found them to be that great as they seem to think they have received things from me that they havent!!! weird LOL!0 -
Not quite sure if I have reached a dead end here but,
I have not heard anything else since the letter from Direct Group dated 10.08.11 informing me that Welcome would be in touch within 5 working days; even if I am generous I should have heard back by the 19.08.11.
Since this PPI claim dates back to 2000, I dont believe the FSCS would be the party for me to contact.
Does anyone have any experience on where to go next with this, and should I maybe make a call to Welcome?
The story is that I sent the questionaire to Direct Group as they had sold the policy, but they have returned it to Welcome and I'm totally confused.

Hi Dex,they have 14 days to respond to you, this is up today,it wont hurt to give Welcome a ring to ask why it has been passed back to them and what is happenning.0
