Thank you very much for all the help;:A

First class guaranteed delivery to be sent to them tomorrow (that is if Direct Group is the right company) on a wing and a prayer there with the lady from Welcome...fingers crossed.

I will also find a way of adding some images of the financial statement in the hope that someone with a big enough brain can work it out for me! :T

If I am successful on my quest to reclaim this money I would be more than happy to make a donation to a charity of your choice amersall :j

IF YOU WIN(FINGERS CROSSED) you keep it,my "gift" will be that i helped you get a good result!.

Dont forget to make a copy of this to send to the FOS,if the insurer says no,then send it straight to FOSxxxx.
    good luck x.

The questionaire is all you need.
You should have an acknowledgment within 14 days.then they have 8 weeks to get back to you.

I just cant believe I managed to get all the info so soon.

Next is Halifax bank charges but reading around not much luck any more.

I have used the calculator with the 8% and comes out at £1387 from the SAR information I got back!!

Trouble is these were between 1999 and 2007, I have not used the account since then and think it might be a no go'er.

The fact I have a DMP with CCCS may help my case though,

I had a letter today already, but not what I expected,

    It reads......

We refer to your recent correspondence. blah blah.....

The complaint received from yourself relates to a service provided by your finance company and under FSA regulations this party must provide you with a resolution to the complaint. We have forwarded your details on to the party named below who will contact you within five working days of receipt of this letter. blah blah...

It then has the address for Welcome finance whom I wrote to originally....Im confused?

Should Direct Group not have written to me and said go away!!

Morning amersall, what do you think of my response from Direct group, is this usual?
There is a time limit on it at least stating I'll get a reply in 5 working days but just suprised they've sent me back to welcome!

    Hello,

From the calculations post you mention FSCS, I presume the 5 days Welcome have in order to reply to me will involve another form to fill out and send to the FSCS? (How do they differ from the FOS)

How does this process work and what is involed, is it a common route?

    I have just read from the FSCS website;

If your claim relates to a policy sold before 14 January 2005, you should contact the firm directly and it will process your claim

Mine is from 20.08.2001...and now I'm confused....maybe I should just wait and see what Welcome write and say.

Sorry for all the questions but you have the knowledge! :T
