Just to make it 3 for 3, I too have had an alternative lifestyle for many years and have met many fascinating people, made costumes and own a special wardrobe
I was known as 'Vixen' Nowadays my life is a little quieter though I do still keep in touch with old friends.
As for crumpets, I tried to make them after watching the Hairy Bikers and they were a total waste of time! I even bought the rings but my frying pan wasn't flat enoughClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Crumpets, hands up to making crumpets (stop sniggering at the back!)
Ahem...you'll excuse me forgetting a phrase from my younger days - ie "bit of crumpet"...:rotfl: I'd forgotten that one....:o
....but has been a whiles since I was thought of that way.....:(

Yes...Indian Summer Soup (if you like curry) the recipe is on the New Covent Garden Soup Website
I made this without the recipe after reading the carton in Mr T. So made a few changes, I just used curry powder instead of the spices, and left out the potato, and only used lentils to avoid having to soak split peas, oh yes and I threw a couple of skinned squishy toms in instead of the puree. It was truly delicious, I think it's the coconut milk and the tiny cauliflower florets. Yum!

And I hope that regulars who have put themselves out there and posted amusing but revealing tales don't feel chastised for doing so.
Amen to that.
I haven't posted cos I've been up to my uxters in paint (and not in a kinky way)
Did you get the passport Rach?
Smiley your story made me laugh out loud. :rotfl:
SDG. It's always the quiet ones.:p:D
I've googled a few "interesting" knitting patterns but won't post them in case I get my wrists slapped.Won't be knitting them either. My knitting is far to loose for that sort of thing.
Huuuuuge plumbers bill came through today. Back to rations for a while in this house.Okays - make that - has anyone got any nice butternut squash ideas then - as I've got 2 to use up?:)
I make butternut squash and sweet potato soup. And butternut squash risotto is lovely or a quick search of OS produced this thread.0 -
Roasted butternut squash and red pepper soup is lovely and very warming. You can add just stock and herbs and some lemon juice to cut the sweetness, or curry powder and coconut milk.0

Yes - I did HJ - we're off on our first 'foreign' jollies on thursday. Bless dd she has no idea and has been asking how many sleeps til we go and now I can stop saying I'm not sure and get excited with her!
Not sure this comes into the BDSM category but can you share your tricks for getting OH to agree on paint colours ;-)
I love to roast BNS as find it goes a bit gacky any other way - Bill Granger has a nice soup recipe were it sort of roasts roast into the stock rather than being pureed.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

gacky????:rotfl: Is that the same as icky, or more like yukky?Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

rachbc I'm afraid I can't help with the paint colour thing. DH and I have almost reached the "Call a divorce lawyer" stage in B&Q paint aisle before now. My brother couldn't believe it when he took us shopping for the paint for our living room. I won by the way
I've found it easier to just buy the paint by myself and start painting. That's why our dining room is two shades of green.
