We are not fond of pizza but maybe if I made my own then we would be. We are still eating too much meat. I hate veg and can never think of any that I will eat so maybe we need to think of a way round this "meat & two veg" thing...
Totally absolutely and utterly gutted about the rugby.:(:(:(

Totally agree about the rugby. We were robbed last week.

Anyone got any recipes for kale pizza? :D:rotfl::rotfl:

mardatha, you obviously do like veg. You grow tomatoes. Ever heard of margherita? Then just add anything you fancy.

I want to ask something. Do you/can you make your own pizza base in a BM?

    Hi mardatha,

You can indeed make the dough in a breadmaker. This thread should help:

This thread might give you some ideas for toppings:

And this thread has host of links to recipes and advice that may be useful:

    KITTIE

I'm with you on that - if I had children - then I would be urging them to look to emigrate for a better future. Of course - the other part of me thinks "Brain drain...a lot of our 'best' going overseas" - but I would be "selfish" enough on their behalf to urge them to investigate the possibilities of this.

The more things change the more they stay the same in some ways - as my father was looking to emigrate to "improve his life chances" when a certain rather Important Factor came along to change his mind (ie he met his wife/my mother):rotfl:

Well - Kittie...our kitchens are probably not dissimilar (with our same brand dehydrator), our lock-and-lock containers, our "healthy" type foods. Our bookshelves and music collections duplicate in some ways. So - I was interested to read that you rate UKIP then. I am torn - as I want to vote Green - but know I maybe need to focus a bit on slightly different "priorities"....so guess I need to investigate that a bit more to see whether I still reach same conclusions.....
Its "floating voter-dom" here..been thoroughly amused by the one political party that set out to "tempt me in" a couple of times..but never "settled" really...so we will see....

Kittie, My three children all live in Australia, one in Perth, one in Tasmania, the other one in Sydney but she travels alot with her job and is only based in Sydney.
I do miss them alot and just had my son here for a few weeks and it was lovely, he left this morning.
It does break my heart there are so far away but then I think of the lifestyle they live there compared to here I am glad they are there.

ginnyknit I resisted the temptation to lift the youngest baby and was content just to watch and chat today. I had a lovely time and came back later than intended so just finishing making the tea now. Driving there hurt my shoulder and neck , dhs gear stick is a bit stiffer than my car.
He is wanting to take me to A&E tomorrow, partly to make sure there is nothing worse but also so there is a record. Insurance people were very helpful.

beanrua It was indeed a shock, I wondered what on earth was happening at first. I dont think there is a law to inform the police here but I could be wrong.

jdfi I am glad things worked out in the end. It all takes sooo long to sort out and yet we are in the age of the computer for goodness sake. A couple of clicks and the info should be available. Its the same with banks and other big institutions.

    Postscript to Kittie

Poor you - at having gone to Brighton today. Time was when somewhere like Brighton would have been a rather "compatible" place to be...but I've just seen the photos of the beach there today. Not for the first time - it looked like "hell on earth" - ie at least 10 times as many people trying to use that beach as it will actually "accommodate". It looked like a Chinese swimming pool (ie try and find the spare grain of sand in between the people).

Another reason to think about the pros and cons of emigrating if one is young enough to do so. Those of us in our age group will just have to content ourselves with seeking out the "lesser known" corners of Britain or (in my case - living where I do) seeking out the places I want to visit/shop in/etc/etc at the "least popular" times...:(:(:( in order to be able to "handle" living here in These Times without blood pressure eruptions too often....

I honestly think I am going to HAVE to move somewhere-or-other in order to get back to a "comfortable" level of people around me/what I've been used to in the past and I imagine a lot of middle-aged people feel the same. I dont know how much longer I can cope with the fact that even traditionally "deserted" places always always blimmin' well have other people around at frequent intervals and that is the big Elephant in the Room that no-one seems to mention about how things have changed since I was younger (and I'm only blimmin' well middle-aged to date....so goodness only knows how old people feel). Sorrees - rant over...

So - somewhere like Australia - with its wide-open spaces and New Zealand with a much lower population density - looks pretty appealing from that pov - as well as for economic reasons. I think Canada has a low population density as well?? - so may be another possibility...

    Wow, that is steep!

We've been looking at Canada, I feel a holiday coming on in the next few years. I hadn't thought of the job factor like that, food for thought. Thanks hun x

Go in the winter. It might change your mind. Remember they have a proper one every year.
