EU is going to sue Britain because we are TOO STRICT with benefit tourists!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!! why am I busting my !!! working two jobs to pay for these people who get a damn sight more than I would if I didnt work??? I can't read the whole article as I feel the need to smash the screen into little pieces .http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/immigration/8798095/Brussels-threatens-to-sue-Britain-to-let-in-benefit-tourists.html

I am so tired today. It was a late night and I am so shattered. Aftera wonderful weekend away reality is hitting home again. Grumpy Red en route!! :D

Makes me want to cry. Two of my grown children are really, really struggling, yet we can still afford to give money away? When is this all going to end?

There is an article in today's Daily Mail if you check it that gave me a bit of hope there. Its to the effect that a group of other European countries have proclaimed themselves "on our side" (ie Britain's side) re this and are helping us to "fight back" against this benefit tourism:T:A

I think some of the Conservatives realise the strength of feeling against being in Europe any longer - which makes me feel a bit hopeful. There seems to be a reasonable size group of Euro sceptics in Parliament - so fingers crossed.

Maybe the Euro Sceptics are those who "get out and about" a bit more round the country and can see just how different things are in different parts of Britain. Its easy to be blinkered if one's life revolves round London and the like.

I find it surprising JUST how different things can be in my own "neck of the woods". Where I am is very urban/cosmopolitan/pretty "modern"/etc and it cant be assumed at all that anyone one talks to in the street actually lives here/etc.

But - only a short bus ride outside is what I call Scruffy Town (term courtesy GreyQueen I believe:rotfl:) and its poorer and a bit "old-fashioned" and I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of the people one sees walking the streets are local. Certainly literally every single person EVER is obviously British and I was surprised to see some British and English flags flying on peoples homes on my last visit and came back wishing that there was some "non-emotive" well-known thing I could put up denoting "outa Europe RIGHT NOW". I was somewhat amused on my last visit to Scruffy Town to find someone I'd just met asking me "Are you a foreigner? Your voice doesnt sound quite English...". (even though they knew I'm from their Big Urban Neighbour) I didnt take it amiss - as they were doing me the favour of giving me a lift somewhere and pointing out places they thought I'd be interested in.:rotfl:

Some of these politicians do need a "good visit" to their own Scruffy Towns and Back-a-Beyond Villages to see another side to things...

Can you give me a link to the rules again - ie the one that states its okay to post a blog link (provided its not to ones OWN blog) - as someone has had a perfectly "innocent"/law-abiding post of mine deleted - though it was within the rules because the blog I mentioned WASNT my own.

Good morning. I am ok apart from a bit of a sore neck and shoulder. The insurance has been informed so will have to wait for a call next week. Dh thinks they will just write it off because it is an old car but it makes me cross because it is MY car. It is still drivable but I cannot open the boot.

Re the economy. There is nothing we can do about it except watch our own pennies so there isn't much point in worrying too much about the things we can't change.

This weather must have the energy companies crying :rotfl::T:T:T

Going out to see some of my grandchildren now.

Just had to pop in and share - you're my on-line friends even tho' I usually lurk.

My OH heard this morning that his ESA Appeal has been allowed! :j We've been appealing this since March! Whoop! Hopefully he'll be able to go back to work soon (once he finds a job - he was made redundant in the middle of all this!) as his condition is sloooowly being managed & he's going stir crazy. I'm so pleased for him - it's been a real struggle this last year with only me earning and the fear they'd stop his £67 pw was horrendous.

    Onwards and upwards!

    xx

PS - Mr M had basics Pasta at 18p this morning - not sure if that's national, but not seen it in there for ages.

Grandma247 , glad you are not too bad, don't do any stretching or lifting for a couple of days as you can easily pull something after a nasty crash like that. Im sure you grandchildren will make you feel better, I know mine does.
I agree about the energy companies - this is a bit of a coup for us MSE'ers - washing on every line in Mse households I bet:T:T

Going to do a bit of crafting and baking as I don't have to look after anyone but me for the weekend, OH is away and though I do worry a great deal about him he isnt here for me to trip over - oh thats the cat isn't it :rotfl:

May have a nip to Mr T later for a treat for tea - as long as its a whoopsied treat! Got lots of plums and apples to deal with, well a couple of pounds of each, I know a lot of fruit to some of you is a sack or two :) Im happy though with what I have got, and hopefully my neighbour will pop a carrier bag of spuds on the step after her daughter visits today - I love it :j

I got the "Granny sucking eggs" book today, not had time to look yet as trying to finish a sock. New price on the back is £12.99 and the RV started. Stopped in mid flow though when I told him it was 1p!
I want to ask something. Do you/can you make your own pizza base in a BM?
We are not fond of pizza but maybe if I made my own then we would be. We are still eating too much meat. I hate veg and can never think of any that I will eat so maybe we need to think of a way round this "meat & two veg" thing...

    Rosanna -Big hugs.
grandma247 - Quite a shock. Hugs. Don't know if this applies to you but here (north of Ireland) I've always been advised to inform Police (within 24 hours)as well as insurance, particularly if there is any kind of injury. Don't know if it is a requirement or just good advice.
To all those having good weather please enjoy it on my behalf - dreadful day yesterday, dark and lashing rain all day- and more of the same to-day. ~I'd feel better knowing you are all making the most of it.

Mardatha - yes you can, Pizza dough is essentially bread dough this a bit of oil in it to make it stretch and go crispy (I usualy make in it my FP - bung in some flour, salt, sugar, wizz, yeast, wizz, bit of olive oil, wizz, wizz while adding water untill a ball forms in the bowl, then just wizz on slow for as long as FP will take it. Take out, shape and leave to rise before topping).

Try folded pizza - calzone - you would get lots of veg into those!
