    That really is :eek::eek::eek:

    We're still on a competitive tariff and would need to buy our way out of this one if we left it. TBH, we were paying this figure a couple of years back 12 months a year - if I end up paying it for 6 months/ year that's much better.

    My house is similar to yours. It's 5 storey and was 5 bedrooms, but one of those is an extra bathroom now. Eon wanted to put my dd up to £130 a month. I rang them and told them not only are they my energy supplier and not a savings scheme, they also send me a refund every year. It's £100 a month now (it was £97 before). I'd ring them if I was you and see what they say.

    Roseanna, hugs to you. You and your OH did the kindest thing and your little Jenny cat will be at peace now with no more pain. There is no shame in either of you grieving - it shows what loving people you are.

  • Hugs from me too, Rosanna. What a lucky little cat to be so loved.

  • Thank you for your kind responses. We managed to get a crisis loan from the job centre today and I have been told that my bursary should be in a week today. Feeling much happier today and have been enjoying the sunshine on my day off from my studies :)
  • Rosanna - thinking of you and your OH, be kind to yourselves and take time to grieve. It's so hard when we have to lose one of our furbabys, but you've done the kindest act you could for Jenny cat

    hugs

    Have just had our latest bill from Eon.... we were on a fix which ended in July. I did shop around, but still found the best deal to be with them if I swapped to another online tariff. Our DD went up from £80/ mth to £95 (combined energy figure) This bill has seen it go from £95/ mth to £145!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Blimey!!! I know they'll review it again next quarter and the quarter after that, so it will go down come Spring, but £50/ mth rise....!!!! Looks like we'll be looking for even more ways to cut our usage..., especially if it's another hard Winter like last year..:(

    My electricity works out a pound a day, its been like that for years,its quite a big 3 bed bungalow , with GCH , I do one load washing a day,tv only on evenings, gas combi boiler so no emersion heater , iron once a day , radio always on, 1 computer , kettles always on the go, big tea drinkers.........hardly ever use TD , I pay £30 month DD.......

    Gas DD £35.per month , just been informed im £293 in credit so I keep that with energy company because I like to be incredit this time of year, so im never scared to put the heating on should we need it.............I know what a lot of you say about giving energy companies money before use, but id rather in in credit than debt, so it suits me to pay that way..............I was sent a statement of my anual useage and electricity £376 per year, gas £496 per year, I thought that was very good considering my heating goes on 14 hrs per day usually from Oct to April...........and I like the temp at about 22 degrees........

    Well today it was 28.4:T...and they say warmer saturday and sunday, lovely bit of sunshine jolds my SAD at bay....:T
