Up here (nr JO'G) they have issued us with a yellow triangle for the storm. When they did that before, it was less wind than we have had on our typical windy day :rotfl:
Still best to be safe and nail down anything that might move...the compost lid being the most likey thing to fly off.
Just received a subscription of Country Living that we got with the T*sco vouchers. Tis my little indulgence (and free) so that will be nice every month. Cuddled upto the stove with it now.

Evening everyone
What a day it has bveen today. OH dropped me off at work at 7am inly for me to find I had turned up a day early and I am working not today. Still I went home and got an early start on my jobs.
Have dried loads of washing in the lovely warm wind we have had today. Had just picked a bag of plums at the lottie when I got a phone call to say my niece and mum had been in a car accident and were at the hospital so we rushed up there not knowing what to expect. Thankfully they were not seriously hurt but are very shocked, battered and bruised as the car flipped over twice. Boy are they going to be sore tomorrow. I am just so please that they are both OK.
Got back to the lottie at teatime and also managed to forage two bags of eating apples to store for the winter and another pound of blackberries. There are not many left within reach now but each handfull will be appreciated over the winter. Dad has also given me a large bag of cooking apples. My freezer really is full to bursting so I am not sure what to do with them. I might look at dehydrating some in the gas oven but I am not sure how cost effective this will be.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Mrs VP so glad they were not injured badly in the accident, a bit of a worry for you to be told they were in hospital and you hadnt a clue until you arrived how they were............. take care.xx0

Mrs VP - sorry to hear about your mum and niece but am glad that they are ok,will keep you all in my thoughts.
Shegar - magnolia!!!(LL's choice, lol) but in my dreams it is duck egg blue with crisp white woodwork and furniture - as long as it's got a bed OH doesn't care!!Give without remembering, receive without forgetting.0 -

Tis me that chooses...hubs is hopeless at colour co-ordinating (sometimes he does come up with a good idea, but not often) Although when in the throws of re-decorating he say 'I never did like that anyway'......15 years later :rotfl:
Wallpaper is soooo expensive that it has to last till it falls of the walls. Although I do put loads of pictures on the walls and move them around so stops me getting fed up too soon.
I'm keeping my eyes peeled for any offers on as I would like to re-do the bathroom and only need a couple of rolls.0 -

.
Glad they're ok. you must be so relieved.
re the apples, can you just make apple sauce with them? It's so easy and keeps well in jars. If you don't use it to go with pork it's lovely on porridge.Beings its quiet on the thread for the past day or two ..........Just a thought what colour/s is your bedroom....?And who decides what colours to paint or paper?......
White walls, wooden floors, antique oak furniture, wrought iron bed and patchwork quilt. My choice as OH's only stipulation was that he wouldn't sleep in a pink room.
Stove installation hasn't gone according to plan but OH is nothing if not [STRIKE]a stubborn bu gger [/STRIKE]determined.
Ended up having pasta with the girls for tea and gave OH a mixed grill in recognition of his hard work so theoretically I have saved £20 on a chippy.0 -
When Oh finished work before he got really bad he decorated my bedroom in a sage green and cream - wallpaper 50p a roll from CS. All the shabby chic stuff is what I have collected over the years as I have been a fan long before it was in fashion. I have 2 beautiful repro lamps (that don't match) which I love and have just got crackle glazed knobs for chest of drawers which needs painting now to match. thats if you ignore all the boxes and bags of craft stuff from when the builders forced us to pack - OH nicked 3/4 of my craft room so they are in my room. His bedroom is an oasis of peace and very organised, decorated in pale blue.
Mrs Veg plot so glad no one was seriously hurt - what a scary time for all concerned hugs ginnyClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0
