I have done something a bit non MSE and booked an LED dancefloor. DJ did give us a good deal though and OH said we will only do it once.

I added £70 worth of table runners and a toptable sash the other day Wendz... it's getting to the stage now that we have money left over and I keep seeing other things I want!!

We have started receiving wedding presents, but I don't know if we should be opening them or not?! I'd like to open them now so we can thank people on the day and start compiling the thank you list, what we anyone else's thoughts?

We are meeting with the registrar, ceremony, reception venues and photographer tomorrow to go through the details and things. I've made a lis of everything we need to discuss with them, hope we haven't forgotten anything!

LED dancefloor... ooh! Is it disco or spots?

We spent £70 today on table number holders, confetti, party poppers, a disco ball, black tie for chewbacca and a lifesize cardboard cow!
(There's nowhere indoors to hang a disco ball, but I really want one, so we'll hang it outside! Smokers can sparkle!)
We only really needed the table number holders.. bad MSEr :o

Early wedding gifts - I haven't a clue, however Peggy Post's Wedding Etiquette book and the Elegant Affairs website both say to open them and send the thank you card straight away. However you must not use them until after the wedding.
    :)

It just has normal sparkly lights i think :).

We got a gift of some money from my great auntie and uncle who can't make it and i sent them a thank you card straight away.

Love how we are all buying extras!

We had our meetings with everyone today, now just need to email them all with each others contact details, didn't think to take them with me, silly! We also bought our suncream and things for our honeymoon.

We have paid almost everyone now, just the final payments on the suits, disco, string quartet, manicures and our hotel room that night I think. Oh and we need to order the currency for our honeymoon. It's quite frustrating, we don't know the actual cost of our evening reception as they are billing us for it afterwards, so I have tried to over estimate on the costs. We are very lucky that my parents offered to pay for the reception, so I'm hoping things end up cheaper than I am expecting! We have bought all the wine and bubbly though, and got some bottles of Shloer for the pregnant/non drinkers, so that's a bit chunk already paid for.

I can't stop looking at the weather forecasts at the moment, and am crossing my fingers it stays nice for us all for the month!! Not long left now!!

Oh and thanks for the advice about the gifts. I was planning on getting thank you cards made with a photo from the day and including any photos of the guests in it as we are having a photo booth type studio set up at the venue. Not sure of I should send a thank you card for the ones we get before the wedding as well or not!

Sounds like you are really organised Laura. That is a bit tricky with the venue. I have the opposite problem that I have to predict how much everyone will drink so have ended up over ordering a bit just in case.

I have heard rumours it is going to be nice all July but my Mum has bought me a white umbrella just in case .

I am having my third hen do tomorrow haha. I had my main one, then the people at work did me one and now the lovely mums I am good friends with locally have organised one. Having a facial in the afternoon then off out for a nice meal.

Think we have sorted out seating plan but is a little bit uneven as we struggled a bit. I am sure will look fine though.

Going to take my ring to be sent off to be cleaned tomorrow.
