That is no time LisaJane eek!

That is a brilliant deal for the hair. We are going for a loose side bun for bridesmaids too :).

That is a good idea for the name cards. Yours look fab! I might use the pink card i used to back the invites and will use for table plan as will tie it all in together.

Glad you love your dress, it sounds fab.

Glad you are feeling better Pinzy , that is good you are doing honeymoon plans.

I am trying to think of presents for the mums and dads. OH's mum isn't really into flowers so was going to get her a photo frame then get a picture printed after the wedding . Now am wondering whether to get my mum one too as there will be so many flowers around anyway...

Struggling for my Dad, thinking a personalised whisky glass but not sure about OH's dad as he doesn't really drink.

Today I have mostly been making cracker hats.. interspersed with doing the Order of Service when I'm bored stiff of hats!

Would you be able to use an instrumental, 2Cellos have done a decent version of Highway with Steve Vai. (I presume you know of Apocalyptica's Metallica covers?)

How about this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJHy09e4J3w as an alternative. We loved it!

We all get married next month eek!

Finally managed to go and get rings. I just have a plain band as i wasn't really interested in anything that fancy and OH had a titanium ring which he will wear for ceremony but won't wear after.

We now have one person to do reading (OH's youngest sister) , asked all his other sisters but they didn't want to. Asking my best friend and bridesmaid now so will see if she wants to. Still need to choose one reading too.

Have been buying some more little bits and pieces like frames for signs and started getting some bits for the kids goody bags.

How is everyone else getting on?

We get married on 12 July here:

    http://dellsbellsweddingchapel.com/

I am moving to the US to marry my US fiance. It has been a long journey full of masses of red tape but we are nearly there.

This is my wedding dress in bright red:

I have a question. My fiance has large fingers, so is a size Z+1. Standard sizes for men go up to Z and I have found some reasonably priced rings online at size Z (high street prices are ridiculously high). Can I buy it online and then pay a high street jeweller to resize it? Has anyone done this? How long did it take to resize it?
¿Alguien ha visto a mi nave espacial?

Biting is excellent. It's like kissing, only there's a winner.

I love the name "DellsBells" :D and the dress looks gorgeous! Ask around your local jewellers, my ring took a few weeks to resize, but when in Birmingham some said they can do it on the day. Cost - ask around again, and I'd google reviews of jewellers to make sure that cheap doesn't mean shoddy.

38 days to go - holy moly!

What a busy few weeks! Now it's June, the year has gone sooo quickly!!

I had a fab time in Spain, weather wasn't amazing but had a good time with mum and my cousins. They tried to embarrass me with a bride to be sash and Disney Princess tiara, but I embraced the sillyness and wore them with pride! Was really nice to get away for a few days, and have come back nice and relaxed.

The dress.... Is sorted. If anything, the layer that needed hemming may be a teeny tiny bit on the short side, but mum says it looks as it should do, so I'm going to listen to her! I did get a hoop for it on eBay but am still yet to try them on together! Will have to do that in the next couple of weeks.

We've been buying gifts for people, and have got all the men sorted now. A couple have personalised pocket watches,a couple have personalised glass tankards, the best man has a personalised whisky glass, my dad has a personalised Zippo and OH's dad has a personalised pen. OH's mum has a personalised wine glass, and I'm still struggling what to get my mum! I was thinking of buying them a new digital camera, but would like something for her to keep too, so need to think about that.

I have decided what to buy OH as a gift - I've got a bottle of aftershave for the day, and while we were doing our John Lewis gift list the only thing he stopped to look at was a picture. I've sourced it from the company a lot cheaper than John Lewis are selling it, and got a frame from Ikea for it last week. Just hope he likes it now!

Pinzy - sorry to hear you were feeling a bit down, but glad you have a honeymoon plan now.

Lisa - the place cards look fab! I might try and take a pic of the ones I've made at some point and upload them, although have never done that before so not sure if I'd figure it out!!!

Wend - any luck with the remaining gifts? OH and I just sat down on Sunday and kind of didn't move until we had sorted them! I'm the same as you, didn't want to give flowers (there will be so many left over from the reception, it seems a waste!) and OH's dad doesn't drink a lot, but apparently likes pens, so that was him sorted!

We are seeing the florist and chef on Thursday to do a mock up of our table flowers and go through the menu/drinks. Fingers crossed those meetings go well!

That looks brilliant Anna! Hope you manage to sort the ring out.

Does sound like you have been very busy Laura! Glad you had a great time in Spain, sounds really fun.

The gifts sound good you have got. Think we have decided on most gifts just need to get them ordered. Going to get my dad an engraved whisky glass, oh's mum a photo frame, best men engraved hips flasks , my mum flowers and then need to think of something for OH's dad .

Hope the florist and caterer go well.

I confirmed and paid the florist today. Also have chosen the readings and oh's sister and my bridesmaid are happy with them.

Glad your dress is sorted laura! Mine arrived (yay!) and looked fabulous (this had happened just after your dress horror, so I didn't want to post and it seem like "I'm sorry you're having trouble but my dress is fab!):o.
However, I went back for a dress fitting last week. Again the shop made me feel like they just wanted me out as soon as possible because they'd gotten my money. The underwear up top that I'd bought showed over the top of the dress, and the dressmaker was saying "oh it's ok it only shows a bit" - what planet she's on I don't know, it's not ok for undies to be showing! Then she wanted to attach the straps to the dress where the boning comes up over the bust, so they'd be in the middle of each busty bit.. nooo, I want them at the side, where most straps go. In the end we were so concerned my Aunt phoned the seamstress after to make sure she had everything right, so I'm looking forward to the next meeting but with some trepidation!

Have updated the list to do and it's gotten longer, not shorter! I decided the other morning that I will be excited, not stressed, but that's kinda coming naturally now it's getting closer! I'm actually getting married! Two years ago I would've laughed if someone told me that would be happening!

We haven't been able to source a small gospel choir at the price we're willing to spend, so now unsure about having two songs during the service. We'd still like to have people singing, but not sure if they'd be willing to do two! This means we'll have to pick a reading..

Have got my cream wedding trainers :D

Getting married almost a month today! 6th July!!

Its gone so quickly over the last couple of months that I cant believe it is almost four weeks to go!

We are getting married at Tewin Bury Farm - Stable

    http://www.tewinbury.co.uk/our-venues

Im off on my Hen party this weekend!! OH already went on his Stag a month a go to Centre Parcs and had a good time! Mines a complete surprise though so have no idea what the girls have planned for me!

In terms of wedding stuff to do we still need to have our final venue and florist meeting. DJ is sorted, I went for my dress fitting last weekend (I am a bit worried about the seamstress though, she seemed a bit rough around the edges shall we say! so I hope it turns out ok and she doesnt wreck the dress! The bridal store did recommend her though......

Still need to get our Nephews suit but most bits are done,

We are going to decorate a bit of the venue on the morning of so I hope we have time! I keep having nightmares that its the day and nothing is organised!!
