Hi Lisa, sorry to hear things haven't been great but glad to hear it's back on track. Your hen do sounds like fun! I really wish I knew more about mine, although I've been told by others that it's going to be great... I don't like everyone else knowing and not me!!
You've done really well with your weight loss! Wish i had managed to lose that much, mine has only been about 4/5lbs, and that seems to be all off my bust!! Have annoyingly gone down a bra size, so it's a good job I decided to buy more wedding underwear!
Mum and I went to try on our dresses last week as they had been altered, although mine is still long and mums still need a bit of alteration. Not sure I'm 100% happy with the job they are doing, although it is a proper dressmaker shop... My dress had bits of blue and pink fluff on it from other things.. Mum didn't notice and I was too afraid to say anything! If it's still like it when we go back to try them again I think we will though.
We have had about 60 RSVP's out of the 100 day ones, with 4 people saying no so far, so am hoping to bump up a couple of people from just the evening to the whole day. Not sure at the moment what the evening numbers are, we've invited about 60 I think but seem to be adding more!
I've arranged my hair and make up trial with my cousin for the 27th April, and she has recommended a YSL foundation, and they are doing a free 7 day trial at the moment, which will be enough for the trial and the day, so am going to get that in town tomorrow and hopefully that will be ok. I already have a mascara, there's a No.7 one which I really like so think I'll stick with that, and I have a couple of eye colours which I'm hoping will do the job!
We are still yet to decide what to buy for the groomsmen as gifts; does anyone have any ideas? We have bought all the men cufflinks so far, and planning on buying socks; OH doesn't want to get people hip flasks as he is pretty sure they all have them already. The women have been so easy to buy for, I just find men so difficult (in more ways than one :rotfl:)MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0 -
Lisa, out of interest, how far before the wedding have you booked to have your nails done? I haven't had my nails done in ages as I'm not allowed long nails/nail varnish at work and am not sure when to book mine for!MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0

Got home from work today to find an RSVP on the doormat!! Very exciting! Then we had a call from the jewellers to say our rings are ready! Yay!
The place where we got our invite cards from is out of stock of the larger size for Orders of Service.. NOooooooo!
On mascara - on reading a magazine article about Olympian lady make-up basics, one of the divers said she uses Urban Decay Cannonball waterproof mascara because it doesn't budge. I'll have to try it - if it survives olympic dives it must survive a wedding!
Wedding rings! Wedding rings! Wedding rings are ready!:D:D

Hi Laura, I have booked in for 4pm the day before the wedding. My theory is I should have everything done by then and will not have to worry about them breaking. My nails at their longest are at the end of my fingers so I won't be going much longer than that.
Oh no Pinzy is there anywhere else that stocks something similar, mabey's we could help you look.
I used to love urban decay mascara when I was younger, I'll have to give it a try too as I really do think I will cry. My mum reckons that the fact my mascara will run should be enough of an incentive not to cry but that sounds like crazy talk especially since I cry at other peoples weddings, even those I hardly know0 -
Hi all,
Finally back on the wedding bandwagon after moving last week. This week have managed to sort out flowergirl dresses (the ones i wanted were 20% off online and had an extra 10% off voucher). Also paid the balance for the registrar and have booked for my dress alterations.
Still need to sort out quite soon OH's and best men etc outfits and also rings.
Also really need to get on with making stuff like the bunting and card box etc.
Doing quite well for RSVP's. Pretty much have all of my side apart from a few family members but we know most of them are coming.
Lisajane - glad things are back on track for you. The hair sounds like it was good. Definately do your own make-up if you weren't happy with it. Your hen do sounds really good!
Laura - you are doing well with rsvps. Not sure about groomsmen, thinking of getting my dad an embroidered hanky but not sure about anyone else!
I am booking my nails for either the wednesday or thursday and we get married the friday. Having shallac nail varnish so hopefully should last for honeymoon too.0 -
lisajane - thank you for the offer to hunt, but it looks as though they will be getting some back in stock.
Heading into major panic mode that we won't get everything done.0 -
I've just seen these suits for our 5-8yr boys, I know they'll get filthy but I Want!!
Cotton suit
They'd be so summery!0 -
I didn't want to post again cuz it'd be 3 posts in a row from me, but how's everyone getting on? It's May! AHMAHGAHD! The OH has gone into full "must get things done now" mode, included wanting to order card at 1am! "No dear, it's beddy times now" *pats head*
Wendz - have you done the outfits and rings?
Laura - did you sort out your dressmaker conundrum?
Lisa - have you found your make-up?0 -
I know its getting crazy close now. Nope still not sorted suits or rings. Might have to pin OH down next Friday as we are both off work.
Have had quite a busy wedding weekend though. Went to have my hair trial and one of my bridesmaids came for hers too and went really well. Is a girl that lives round the corner and I was really pleased with what she did and she is really reasonably priced too. Working out cheaper than I thought which is great!
Also went to the venue for a meeting yesterday and they were really helpful and got loads of questions answered. They seem very willing to accommodate things we want which is great.0 -
Those suits are cute Pinzy!0
