Can I ask for views, please? MIL looked after DS2 (7) yesterday, while I went to the hospital. (She couldn't come because the visiting times and her dog walking times coincide.) She left DS2 on his own, watching TV, while she took the dog for a short walk. Two of my friends thought that was unacceptable and I wasn't best pleased, either. Am I overreacting?
No you aren't - and she couldn't walk the dog at another time and visit her son? How strange...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

MrsChaos, previous posts echo my thoughts exactly. Who would have thought a grandmother would put a dog before a grandson? And it is not acceptable to leave a seven year old home alone.
Now, whoever thought up the frog list deserves a pat on the back from me. I started on no 1 on my frog list week before last and have just finished. Every till receipt relating to business expenses is now listed on a spreadsheet and has been e mailed to the accountant.
On the negative side the house is now a tip! I have everyone home for the Summer with contents of three flats/houses crammed into here.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

MrsChaos I am with you and the others - its definately NOT accecptable - good job you have alternative plans - but like pigpen said if you do need to use her again be sure to stipulate that he musnt be left on his own - how would she feel if anything happened to him I wonder?
I hope OH's condition continues to improve - and I hope you get some answers from the doc tomorrow.

Thanks Toots
Serena - pleased the car suited, long way to come and not like it!
MrsC - I thought afterwards and what comes across is that your MIL cares more about the dog than her son or grandson. My MIL is the same although it is her, then the dog, then everyone else. It explains a lot about my DH sometimes.
I am missing Dusty and AnWs Mum - lots of other quiet people too.
Lots done here, mainly outside but also some bulk cooking/baking. Lots of washing, just sorting and then for an ironing marathon.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Oh dear, my good intentions have not made much of an impact. This is what I've managed to do:
laundry out and WM back on
DW emptied and filled again
flinging downstairs
cleared and hoovered tiny landing at bottom of stairs
cleared out 1 drawer in freezer
I also spent time with NNs to let them know what's happened. DS2 was immediately invited for lunch and tea and they've generally offered to help with anything. Lovely people. I kind of had lunch, so overall I've done better than yesterday. Time to get ready and go hospital visiting, and I'll see what I can get done when I'm back. I really want to do the bedroom and sort my clothes, but it's the very least urgent job in the house. I'll stick to dot-to-dotting (thanks, AnW's!), I think. Got to get my mojo back, 'cos I was really on a roll at work last week.0 -
