Hope everyone is having a good day. Am having a bit of an odd one.. first spent 3 hrs on the phone trying to get thru to our Royal Mail delivery office manager re several postal issue..then found a friend of mine on a blog who I used to see when she was before and during Uni.. so around her late teens early twenties.. She is now 36... am catching up to her life via her tweets and things like that always make me realise what a failure I am in life. She replied to my blog comment and asked me how I was and TBH i really dont feel like telling the truth..:(

    Afternoon all,

Beautiful day here, have been out stripping leaves from tomatoes, as usual can't remember what type they are, am getting a few tomatoes every day now, so no tomato or pea, onion or beetroot purchases, have 2 heads of cabbage which I think I may have to use before we go away, might just cut them and leave in fridge while we away, will see what OH says.

DGS2 here for the night, haven't seen him for 10 days as he and DD4 were in London visiting DD2 and DS2...they went to Chessington and were very impressed.

Have only read that death toll in Norway is now 91....beyond understanding what loonies like that are thinking, biggest problem is that some are just evil so don't have the excuse of insanity...my thoughts are with the bereaved and all those involved.

Happy birthday Taplady, have a good day.

Beemuzed....enjoy your wedding anniversary....was 41 years for us on 10th, it seems to have gone in a flash, but when you look at the numbers its frightening.

Going to blanch some mange tout and freeze...whatever we don't eat for dinner with pork chops, cabbage and new potatoes, going to make a sponge and mix in some black currants and rhubarb, did it last week to use stuff up and was very nice....hot as pudding and cold as cake.

Think that I am just going to 'hover' to-day....a few minutes in the garden and then inside, hoping to clear some of the floordrobe in my bedroom, should have space in wardrobes now that some things have gone to charity shop....might even get rid of more.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everybody, stay safe and well

    Afternoon All,

Happy Birthday Tappers, hope its a gorgeous day for you, the sun is splitting the trees here, so hopefully you have the same down there :bdaycake:

Had a funny old day so far, doing lots of bits and pieces and babysitting the OH who is getting on my nerves, I think I might be premenstrual :o

    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Afternoon all

    Happy Birthday Tappers!

I am currently making greengage jam-fast boiling and waiting for the set-tried once but not quite ready yet. I was stirring the fruit and thinking well I have had a lovely day today. This is how it went: I had a lie in and when I got up the sun was shining. OH sorted out the fridge and washed it-yay! We went to Wells and had a coffee by the market and a teacake and just people watched. We had nice chats to the egg man and a lady in the queue at the post office, bought some herbs and just wandered around. I bought 3llb greengages for jam and had a browse in the library, got a couple of books and DH borrowed a Phil Collins CD. Did some shopping in Tesco's as friends are coming round for drinkies tonight and my lovely line of washing was nearly dry. I have been making jam and OH has been pottering in the garden. Perfect day-I am so lucky!

My heart goes out to those in Norway.

I am excited about your move too Flutterby.

Anyway have a good evening folks.

Firstly don't assume that everything is as rosy as it appears via FB or Twitter. Everybody's life has some crud, just some choose to show it others don't.

As for feeling like a failure, look at it this way you can sit back and whine about how things might have been and play the victim or you can change your attitude and make the best of what you have and take steps to improve your future. You should have a nose as Memory Girls Matrix thread on Debt Free diaries board. Positivity and a "can do" attitude oozes from every pore on there.

Yet another kids party today  Weeded and tidied up front garden. Just having Domino#s pizza for tea (BUT it is BOGOF so sort of MSE :o)

Happy Birthday to Tappers, hope you've had a great day :D

Thanks ladies tho have done this. I cannot alter the facts of my past - that I have spent long periods unemployed and other more personal details. for one she has been mostly jobbed and coupled up all these years whereas I... I have tried all I can but cant change my looks or the men I come into contact with..have given up these last few years but when you meet up with someone they naturally ask you about family, relships, work..when you say you have none of the above.. well I was once honest in a lighthearted way with a 6th form bud on Friends Reunited cos i knew how lovely she was and didnt think it would matter..never heard fomr her again..:(

I don't know the in's and out's of your life BUT the key word here is highlighted. Your PAST. Not your present or your future. Is dragging past baggage with you helping you at all? Perhaps friend from 6th form didn't know what to say and took the chickens way out and ran. Who knows. Are you going to add this to your baggage to carry around? As for no work, family or relationships......so what. The fact that you've got none shouldn't be a reason to be an emotional vampire. there isn't any need to change your looks, but it might be worthwhile changing your outlook.
