    I'd boil it with an onion, carrot, herbs etc. Meat is great - full of flavour and moist like that, already have your stock (although could reboil carcass later) and the veg can be used for soup rather than as part of the meal if you'd prefer.

    Roast it and slice the breast meat off and have with boiled pots and salad.

    Tomorrow Chicken Jalfrezi with nan bread and mango chutney

    strip the rest of the meat off the bones and use for pie / omelette / pasta / stir fry / casserole or sandwiches :)

    Joint it and roast with lemon, olive oil, oregano and white wine - use the juices to make an lovely lemony sauce thickend with egg yolk and serve with a salad and steamed rice

    Oooh I'm going through the economic gastronomy book and doing the chicken recipes - boiled up the chicken yesterday and had chicken pie, today is coronation chicken, rice and naan bread.

    I have bought a chicken today, which I am hoping will last us (3 in the house) 3 days in main meals. I am planning on doing roast chicken tomorrow and I am looking for inspiration for the remaining 2 meals.

    Chk, Bacon, onion, mushroom pie. Get ready made pastry, fry off Bacon, onion and mush, put in shredded chicken, pour in tin campbells condensed chk soup, fill pie, put pastry lid on, bung in oven! Yum!
