Too frightened to leave neg feedback in case it's reciprocated

Just ignore snooze control, it appears he gets a kick out of winding people up on these boards. You should just feel sorry for the little chap.0

People should stop worrying about getting negative feedback left in retaliation when they've been conned or suffered a sh*t service and let the buyer decide who the one at fault is.

Finally, someone points out the really really really really obvious that is overlooked by the really really really really stupid.
Nice post. :T0 -
it seems to me that if people do not like the honesty of publishing at the same time then is there any point of having the current system of measurement?
It seems taht those "in the know" can get round the current system leaving those "not in the know" to deal with the concequences.
Therefore one could place a 14 day window for feedback from both parties at which point it would be published at the same time.
One could also indicate numbers of sellers & buyers that did not leave feedback both as an absolute number and as a % of their total buying or selling transactions.
I have had a look at the e bay site and it seems that they are moving towards putting in stronger conflict resolution processes and offering training.
This seems to me to be only adressing the problem post transaction NOT allowing the buyer to make an informed decision at point of purchase (pre transaction).
any views?

Its getting a bit hot in here.
I think its to be applauded that some sellers want to mantain a 98/99 % feedback.
Its what the idea of its all about after all.
If a seller dropped below that by a few % it wouldnt stop me buying just make me a bit more cautious (again thats the idea of it)
I do agree however that there is a "fear" that leaving neg attracts neg. When your a Seller/Buyer like me with 100% but only 250 feedbacks the impact is proportionatly higher when a neg comes your way.
Im in the process of ending up with a neg because of a purchase from a bad seller that Ill have to accept - it will knock my feedback by 1% but theirs by 1/10% but its their fault.

I am also afraid of leaving neg feedback, I won an item and at the end of auction. Ebay stated that I was the winning bid, I emailed the seller to say cheque would be posted the same day. I got an email from seller saying
"sorry mate couldn't take the item of in time"
I reported to Ebay , then got an email back from Ebay basicaly saying, nothing we can do!!!!!! what is the point in Ebay having rules if sellers get away with refusing to sell once the item has been won. Am I allowed to name and shame the seller??
Any help greately appreciated.
I allways press the thanks button0 -
what sort of advice do you want?0

betheebee,
I'm afraid that all we can really say is that the ebay feedback system is far from perfect, but it's all there is, and it's better than nothing.
As to your particular problem, I'm afraid there's nothing to be done.
Fleabay maintain (at least unless you burrow down deep into the T&C's) that bidding in an auction forms a binding contract when in reality it does nothing of the sort.
It's a sad reflection on modern life that companies are allowed to lie through their teeth in this way, but they are and there's nothing we can do about it.0
