Ive never heard of that before MJmum

have you had a funny survey back???

seems very strange? Or a boundary issue? Fences/ gardens, shared pathways etc?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Yes, the survey report just came back (copied to the solicitor). I think the main issue he is concerned about is the surveyor noted a small flying freehold (old cottage split into two).

News update from me as well, phoned up the estate agents to find out what was going on and got put through to their "progressor", but it seems they are having problems in that branch as their's has left and the files have been pushed around other branches. Had a heart stopping moment when they told me my vendor's purchase had fallen through!

Apparently they are now planning to move to rented accommodation, so hope that might simplify things.

My solicitor had been waiting for a reply back from the management company and the progressor chased them and they claim not to have received the paperwork from my sols, so my sols will have to resend it so that's probably going to be at least another week. :(

The progressor is also going to chase the questions that have been asked of the vendors to see if they got those as well. Bit annoying, but sounds like she's on the case now at least.

First time posting in this thread...

Offer accepted today for our first house! We're very excited!
  • well I have just spent ages and ages reading all of this thread and I am feeling a bit nervous now! CongRATulations to everyone that has moved successfully and good luck to those still in the process - like me.

We have signed documents and have a moving date of 22nd February - we are FTB and sellers are moving in with relatives so no chain really.

I have been busy packing and have loads of boxes - eldest son works for customs and I asked him if he could bring some boxes home for me which he did - they are ALL cigarets and booze - don't know what the neighbours will think:eek:

good luck with your move too jeewhizz:)
  • Woo Hoo!! We have completed and now have the keys!!!! :j We move in tomorrow (was meant to be Friday, but Hertz decided to cancel our van this morning and we could only find another one for tomorrow). It still hasn't sunk in yet that the house is ours. Still no school for the children yet  and its going to snow in the morning!!! lol

Anyway, it all went really quick. Viewed the house 5th Dec and complettion today (with two weeks out for Xmas). Me is one very happy wiggly!!!! :D
  • wigglygiggly, well done. How quick was that!!!!

We have now finally got our survey back (after nearly a month) with full offer of mortgage but they also require 3 additional surveys, Damp & timber, Electrical and roof. So god knows how long that is going to take. We wanted to be in by the end of Feb.

    Congrats wiggly.

We have run into sooooo many issues with our supposed purchase, that we are currently in the "House purchase? What house purchase? What's my name?" zone

Ooh wigglygiggly! Congratulations to you, how lovely! :)

I have contracts for the house I live in now, as well as for the house I'm buying! Rather annoyingly, our mortgage deed needs to be signed in the presence of a qualified solicitor, we have to make an appointment to see ours to do it, but she's away till next wednesday. There *is* a locum, but she finishes at 3.45 and hubby works in London so doesn't get back till 6.30pm...He's looking at some time off but one of the team he manages has recently vanished (with the last 2 weeks worth of work) due to some marital issues so he's a bit overbusy at the moment...grrr.

I bet my new house would look lovely in the snow - it's got a 60' garden, a 60' allotment, and backs onto a field. Beats my 20' garden which backs onto a main road and a housing estate!
