  • Hi,

Can I join in. I have been reading this thread fro a couple of weeks and keep meaning to join in but... well you know. This is how my week has gone so far.....

As you can see from my sig we are waiting for our surveyors reports hmmm!!
I spoke to the EA on Monday and it seems that the surveyor went in on 12th Jan !!! and we still havent had our report back

Should I worry??? Have phoned our IFA who will chase it up

Ahh Seems that the surveyor FORGOT to do the report AAARRRRGGHHHH:eek:

Have spoken to the IFA who has now told the surveyors that our report is done at the utmost importance. so now we are waiting for that.

Our IFA still thinks we can be in the house at the end of Feb:T :T but we'll see.

    Will keep you updated

Just logged on to see how Poppycat was getting on - hope it went ok - have been thinking of you and wishing it was me!

Well we are ready to exchange with our vendor next week but there is a hold up because our buyer decided to change solicitors and mortgage brokers at the eleventh hour because he wanted to borrow some more money (?). EA assure me all is well and that the survey on our house should be carried out next week. Fingers crossed all is ok. We have lived at this house for 11 years and never had any problems but they are paid to find negatives not positives so I am going to make sure I am at work when the survey is done so I don't become too defensive if he starts shooting questions at me about the house.

Am still too worried to relax about the whole moving thing yet, everyone says sit back, relax and try not to think about it - easier said than done when all of your hopes and dreams for the future could be ruined at any moment though!

Anyway, good luck to anyone exchanging/completing today.
  • hello all.
i have not been on this site for a while as i have been on holiday and very busy at work but i dont have time to read through all of this thread as much as i would like to but i was wondering if anyone has used iammoving.com to change their address with various companies (i.e banks, dvla, etc http://www.iammoving.com/?whitesiteurl=helpiammoving) or should i just contact each individual company myself?

Hi all - good luck Poppycat, ooh fingers crossed for you!

We've had the drainage search back for the house we're selling -I'm not going to call it 'our house' anymore :) - and so just local aiuthority search and further questions to go. On the house we're buying - we've had the report & contracts through! eek! Scary stuff...

All seems to be finally going smoothly though. I'm suspicious! :D

    Good luck to you all...

Well done Poppycat. Bet it was a wrench moving.

We came back from a couple of days away to a message on the answerphone from our solicitor, saying that he now wants to visit the property we are buying. Odd or what. Has anyone else experienced this? (I never thought solicitors ever saw daylight but were chained to their desks all day...?)
Don't see the point anymore in offering advice to people who only want to be agreed with...
