Thanks natweststaffmember!
Well I never knew that! Thought I could only claim on my personal account.
The business account is no longer used and has been converted to a loan, which I am paying off (including charges).
When I first heard about reclaiming bank charges, I am sure I heard or read somewhere that you could only make claims on a personal account!
Really annoyed that they sent me a letter three months later saying that I was being charged £38 because the December loan payment (for the ex business account) was unpaid. That means I paid a charge on both accounts!
Easy money for the bankers while I work to throw money at them! :eek:0 -

As you would know and after having consulted with you I sent Natwest the preliminary letter some time last week. Now, after the OFT screw up, I suppose the sending the LBA would be meaningless, isin't it?
I must applaud the timing of this screw up, just in time to mess up my life all over again. May all of them rot in Hell.
Thanks once again, Natweststaffmember.0 -
Hello all - I have just been into my bank and asked about the Advantage Gold that appears to have been taken from my account for years costing around £12 per month. I vaguely remember being told some years ago that as I had a large overdraft I needed to have this so I must have agreed to have it. Not long afterwards I got rid of my overdraft as I sold some shares and I assumed it would sort itself out and the Advantage Gold would be cancelled. I have to admit I was lazy and didn't even look at my bank statements as I never went overdrawn so I thought I had no reason to worry. I was always in the black which was a nice place to be. I recently transferred to a One Account mortgage and I went in to finalise things with the Natwest and was told about the Advantage Gold costing me £12 a month. Apparently it gave me travel insurance - never used - access to other services - apparently in a leaflet handed with a bunch of other leaflets advertising loans etc when I must have signed up. All went in the bin as I thought the Advantage Gold was to stop me paying too much when I was overdrawn.
Anyway after that quite wordy introduction I heard a little snip of Martin on radio 2 and wondered whether he was referring to the likes of this type of money making scheme that we can claim back.
Cheers - Bryn0
