hello tink and welcome to OS.
DD is eating her lunch watching Sharks Tale as thanks to me getting PO'd with Telewest yesterday we now have all the movie channels for 12 months and we're paying £25 less than we used to. I am eating a luxury lunch of smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches and playing on here as I can't seem to install the new game DH bought meOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Afternoon everyone!
Late on here today but I have been up and about since early this morning, thanks to rotten cough which must go soon surely
I normally love Christmas too but must admit that I would also love to pack it all away now, well everything but the tree which I love and hope to keep going right up to 12th night. Might not be allowed another real one for a while!
I am still popping stuff into the freezer, even the small amounts, as you never know, there might just be a recipe idea for even the smallest leftovers. I know you can freeze stilton, cheddar etc but will have a go at freezing wensleydale and cranberry now. Shame about camembert as I have 2 unused thanks to us all being poorly. We should start a thread for using up Christmas leftovers, or is there one already? Amazingly there is not much in the way of leftover red wine!
DS and his GF have packed up pressies and gone back to London and DD will be going back today, so will be very quiet around here again. It was lovely to have them all here, lots of laughter even if we were poorly!
Well off for another :coffee: while I peruse the recipe thread
Welcome to Ol Style Tink!
Take care and ((((Hugs)))) to all especally little Lily!

Aaargh, new mouse and clicked summat I shouldn't and lost my post .... d'oh, let's try again .....
Welcome to Tink and OMG to rdchap1with mega gentle ((hugs)) to Lily.
Well, Christmas was hectic but a success :j , so now of course we all have colds and my tonsils have flared up
I made wheat bags for everyone including DD's new doll, LOL .... it was fairly amusing as I'd made one for my great uncle, and my ma had been eyeing it up ... so was exceptionally happy when she received one of her own! (She is notorious for me never getting her a pressie she likes). The HM chutney's went down a storm too
DD and DH are currently downstairs building a mammoth train track in front of a blazing fire, bread is proving in the airing cupboard, washing is hanging in the utility room (has had to have a gently helping hand from the T/D - too many loads of bedding etc) and final load washing. HM lasagne defrosting ready for dinner.....
Was going to go sales shopping, don't really need anything, feeling way too fat to want to buy clothes, think I'll settle down with a cuppa, a laptop, credit card and choccie biccie, LOL. Did manage to order a load of stuff for DD from Next, so hopefully she will finally have some tops that fit her .. growth spurt upwards ... oops! And of course, no clothes for Christmas, as stupidly I said I wanted her to have toys instead .. d'oh!
Updated all finances t'other day, will need to tighten our belts for a couple of months, not Christmas so much, as "unexpected" DIY costs with more to come. Budgets set and DH warned!
Diet begins 02/01/07, by firstly cutting out takeaways which we can't afford anyway! (Not the quantity we've been eating over December anyway!)
Has anyone else set their Resolutions yet?GC - March 2024 -0 -
I was shocked actually, when I went for my injections yesterday I actually have lost half a stone over Christmas, I have no idea how I have managed it, the nurse said I am the only patient she has who lost weight over Christmas, but I don't drink any more and I was cooking everything from fresh aswell as all the dashing about and cleaning! I think that is what has made the difference. My resolutions are in other threads dotted about the site but also want to loose more weight. One day I might be more organised...........

Afternoon all
First time I've managed to get on for a read since Christmas - RdChapp - Hope Lily is on the mend - must have been a very worrying time for you all.
Hugs to those who are poorly and  to the others.
Been feeling a bit off colour this week so had a lovely lie in this morning until 11am then ran around like a loon tidying up and getting the house straight, DD's are playing together nicely  and DH has popped to the shops for some fresh bread and veg.
OS wise, been very lax but am going to sit down and work out a meal planner in a bit and then get the budget set for the year - DH's payrise means we could be debt free within 12 months if we really put our minds to it. Have frozen down 8 bags of turkey stock and 12 bags of left over turkey/beef/gammon for soups and cassaroles - that's a really good start on the meals for the next few months. Popped to Mr T's on Wednesday and they had all their frozen pork sausagemeat (for stuffing) reduced to 19p a box - I got 10Pork burgers/pork meatballs/sausage rolls/stuffing balls - we'll eat well from that lot....they're 400g boxes so by the time I've added some grated veg and onion it will easily do the 4 of us a meal.....Although the check out woman did annoy me, DD's had used their Christmas money to buy a DS game each and she looked at the price of them and said - How much for those games...no wonder mummy can only afford to feed you on sausage meat  DH nearly complained about her attitude.
Anyway - enough waffling - have a fantastis new years eve to all those partying, we're spending it alone for the first time in 6 years."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
