I'm ashamed to say I've been giving into temptation far too much over christmas.. but I am heavily pregnant and surely one more box of chocolates can't do any harm...

i think being pregnant shows you can't resist temptation ;)

(hope this is taken in the context it was intended, ie a joke!)

yep thats the one i pointed him in this direction ages ago... he has now over took my posts :naughty: :rotfl:
  • If I'm tempted by some dreadful vice I try and think of someone I really admire or lust after and think "What would Brad Pitt think of me if he saw me stuffing my face with cream crackers / not doing my sit ups / staggering round in a drunken haze" - it sort of brings me to my senses a little.
More soberingly, I imagine what my children would say if they saw me doing whatever it is - is that what I want my littlies to think is okay?
Regarding spending (although admittedly I hate spending money), if I'm ever tempted by something, I just ask myself if I want the advertising industry to make me a muppet by making me spend my hard earned cash on some complete dross because they've persuaded me to do so - I don't want to be a muppet, so that usually works for me.
That said, I think i'm getting old, as vice has lost its appeal to me somewhat - in my 20s I viced to the max, but with age comes wisdom, and TBH I don't think my body could cope with vice like it used to (and after 2 littlies it's not such an appealing vehicle for vice as in former years!:o ).
