  • I like temptation - trick is not to give into it - LOLOLOLOL - Says she with a brand new pair of sparkly red sequinned shoes!!!!!

Just had to turn down an offer from a very tasty young student in my class. I'm old enough to be his mother and he still offered!!!!!! Good job I'm partnered up or I may have regretted it in the morning - hahahahahaha. BTW I'm a student as well - not a lecturer letching!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

  • LOL PAP, why not just take 100 and spend it all!!!!!!, take that 200 and flog the life out of it, treat yourself!!!!!!

No you didn't tell me where u lived last time i asked for some strange reason, it was as if u thought i was a stalker or something  lol

Tbh i would rather be like u than out of control but i wish you would look after yourself and treat yourself, money is only there once and then its gone and its not like ur going to spend it all and waste it all...every now and again treat yourself!

    Will

Ps i can't really preach but i have done lol!

:rotfl: haha will... sorry i am bad isnt i... just the way i am... i will add to the spending diary anyways :)

shrug.gif sorry hun... dunno when you last asked me... maybe i was having an 'off' day... anyways you know now pop around anytime for a cuppa :)

i will try... and am going to factor in £40 a month on me money... i dunno how long it will last though :rotfl: that can either be something for myself or some clothes or something (clothes is a sore point with me too as i refuse to buy new) but i will try definatly... when i speak to friends/work collegues they cant believe that i dont spend much of my wages (thus what they said to me about my birthday gift)... one day i will spend without worrying but i am fine truely i am...

anyways i best be off to bed... big day tommorow :) whos idea was this rolleyes.gif

Lyns I'm sorry to hear this might turn out to be another frog instead of the prince we were hoping for. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he's just shy and is plucking up the courage to text you.

As for temptation, I gave in to the shoes and food categories today with a gorgeous new pair of boots and a shared tub of posh strawberry cheesecake ice cream. I have no shame.

mrs s, frog status is yet to be totally confirmed, he hasn't gotten in touch, but he did reply when i wished him a merry xmas on monday...at this rate i'll need to make a dfw announcement when i know whats going on!

as for boots and ice cream, thats not a treat! it's a womans prerogative! and i think you well deserve them!

i don't class red sparkly shoes as temptation or luxury...they are a necessity, in fact i think i NEED another pair :D
  • I'm ashamed to say I've been giving into temptation far too much over christmas.. but I am heavily pregnant and surely one more box of chocolates can't do any harm...

One way to deal with temptation on your credit card is when you are in a shop about to buy an item for say £60, say to yourself 'if I had £60 in cash now would I buy this? Would I rather have this than an extra £60 in the bank.
The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best

  • Right now I've been tempted by the tub of pralines and cream Haagen Dazs in my freezer... god knows why I bought it...

I had been very good at resisting temptation with the simple question " do I want this or need it" However, I tied myself in a knot with this by taking it too far ( would I die withut this pint of milk ;) )

However, this year, first time ever, Ive bought some Xmas cards, tags etc in the sales for next year. Chuffed with myself, as spent a freaction of what I normally do. But did i NEED to? or want to?

I dunno, I feel very tempted at the moment, and just want to buy loads of stuff even though I have no income and my financial prognosis over the next few weeks aint good at all!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • By finding something to distract you until the temptation goes away, or by saving up so that once a month or so you can give in!
