Check under the rear seats and inside the door shuts on the base of the b posts and lift up the boot carpet and look in the corners to see if it is a rotten apple.

    ???

WHY would you even consider looking any further than the state of the wings on this car??

Its not like there is a world shortage of cheap 205s?

For £475 this is the sort of thing you should be aiming for from a dealer-

Should get about 39.8 mpg and will provide you with much more hassle free motoring than an old French rust bucket.

I've seen a lot worse for that little money! At that sort of price so you are talking a pretty much disposable item. Good spot.

That looks a very sensible buy indeed, very "straight", good bodywork, interior.
I just cannot believe that someone would even be looking at a rotten Pug, when there are clean motors with a year's ticket for this price.

I know, cheap cars are a gamble but £475 for Japanese or £475 for French. You don't need to think about this one too long. Jap wins hands down, and you could have the possibility of having a sub £500 cars that you keep for 5 years. Would you be keeping a £500 French car for 5 years, most owners don't have them for five years from new.
I love bangernomics, my £500 Vauxhall is approaching two years of ownership and I aim to get another three years from it, by then I'll be looking at £500 Mitsubishi's that will come with air con.

I think the O/Ps point was that they werent told that the wings were in holes before they went to see it or they wouldnt have.
