I'm reasonably content mine looks ok....I get complimented on it a lot.:o
Very curly hair is different. I am talking straight or only slightly wavy hair which looks as though it could do with a good brushThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Layers are nice, but a crop on most women looks too severe, imo. You have to bear in mind that these celebs who are photographed with their new cropped hair-do's are usually wearing heavy make-up and the lights and camera-angle etc etc are done so that they look good.0

My hair is very short and bleached blonde. I hate to say it, but lots of women have long hair because they think it makes them look more attractive. I feel like they are simply hiding their attractiveness. Long hair is what everyone has and I prefer to stand out and be noticed. My face is the strongest part of the way i look. I am lucky enough to have high cheek bones and a nice shaped face. Why would i want to cover all that up with loads of bouncing annoying hair?
Woemna and girls need to stop trying to look like TV actresses or singer and try looking like themselves. Why do we find it necessary to make a point of women who cut their hair short? Is it a statement about what we believe to be feminine? Like high heels or short skirts. I may like jeans, trainers and short hair, but that doesn't make me any less of a woman.
Oooh - check out the feminist!!Yep and proud to be!

I never brush my hair! Like you i have very thick curly hair, the most i do is untangle it with my fingers in the shower when i have a hair mask on.
I also never use shampoo:pThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

I do use shampoo but not very often. I mainly c/o.when I'm old with my wild hair I hope I can afford to get it washed at the hairdressers...not very MSE.

Oh yes, and i dont go to the hairdresser, i cut it myself, very MSE:D It is looking infinitely better since i started cutting it myself and following the curlygirl hair routine. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

I think all three of themk are so gorgeous they could have a skinhead & look fab:D
I think medium or longer hair is more forgiving to ladies, short hair is rarely a feature, the face is usually the feature & the hair is just there. But medium or longer hair can be a real feature/asset.
I think as women get older they need to think about shortening it, especially if its thin or thinning. Mine is still very thick, but I wouldn't have it much longer than a few inches below shoulder now.0 -
I always used to have short hair when I was younger and loved it, it suited my face shape. As I got older I let my hair grow but now I'm in my 40s I'm seriously considering having it cut short again. I've got thick shoulder length hair and I really can't be bothered faffing about with it so most of the time it's tied up, so I may as well get it cut. I don't think I'll go for a really short crop, maybe something slightly longer.
Luckily I'm happy and confident in my own skin so I couldn't care less if men prefer long hair and for me femininity isn't defined by hair. My partner wouldn't care if I had long or short hair as long as I was happy.
One thing I do dislike is old ladies with long hair, unless you're young looking with really good skin you end up looking like a witch. I think there's only a few old women who can get away with long hair.Dum Spiro Spero0 -
Up until a couple of years ago I had very long hair. Then I saw a photo of myself and started to wonder if it really suited me any more. This resulted in a few drastic chops and now it is short and funky. I love it. It also suits my lifestyle, I am quite sporty and short hair is just so easy to wash and look after. Mind you I am also quite a girly girl and believe you dont have to have long hair to look pretty.
I have to say I get far more compliments about my hair now than when it was long. As for fellas liking it? I know my hubby likes it but to be honest so long as I like it thats what counts.
You do have to have it cut regularly and a good hairdresser is essential for me. I can play about with the colour and styles though and it soon grows out if I dont like it.0 -
I'm 41 and I have a very short cropped haircut. I grew my hair for years and despite regular trims at the hairdressers, most of the time it looked lank and unattractive. Now, it's similar to the hairstyle of the girl from Harry Potter only naturally jet black. It suits my face, I do have high cheekbones and despite being slightly heavier than I'd like
, I still have quite elfin features.
Men don't seem to mind the short hair cut, I get more male attention now with it cropped, but then I think that's because they're distracted by my big boobs :rotfl: :rotfl:“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”
