well done - it must be so much more difficult knowing that somebody else in your house has ciggies and you cant have one ( dont think I would have the will power to do that )
I am up to 1 day 12 hours without one, I have not smoked 30 cigarettes and saved nearly £7.00 - doesnt sound much yet and I would love one right now so I thought I would come on here to distract myself. Im off to the gym soon for the first time in ages so I will also see how much damage I have done to myself there with smoking again. Will be interesting to see how long I last on the treadmill
ooo and so far today I have managed to not bite anybodys head off or cause any road rage - perhaps word has got out and everybody is avoiding me :rotfl:
Good luck everybody:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Are all smokers arrogant and abrasive, they HATE being told how ''20 packs a day is a lot to smoke'' and how disgusting smoking actually is.
These have been my general perceptions. If I was cutting my wrists and blood was spurting all over the air, I dont think they will sit their quietly flalling their arms in an attempt to get some much needed oxygen.
And I hate how they act like its a crack cocaine addiction, its not amphetamines, its a bloody stick of tabacoo that seems to take over your soul. Its absolutely disgusting.
*sorry Im a little angry this morning, maybe i need a fag myselfSave saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -

How are we all doing?
I am now 2 days 1 hour and 6 minutes into my smoke free zone!
I have not smoked 81 cigaretttes!
I haven't found it that hard because I have been de-brainwashed with the help of Allen carrs book. However, today has been harder than yesterday for some reason but I did read somewhere that the 2nd day was like the peak of the addiction so hopefully it just gets better from here on in.
I know for sure that if I hadn't read it, I wouldn't have even lasted half a day, I would have been climbing the walls and screaming at anyone who came near me, my hubby and children are amazed at how easy I seem to be finding it.
One thing I am finding a bit weird though is I am scared of what might trigger a really bad urge to smoke.
Its like today, I normally smoke when I go on the computer so I had to go on it just to see if the urge to smoke would be really bad, it was there but it wasn't terrible.
I also had a mad urge to clean after taking the tree and trimmings down, I virtually spring cleaned two full rooms.
It also gave me an excuse to try and get rid of any remaining tobacco smells, the thing was, after doing all that, I would normally have sat down with a cuppa and a cigarette after a job well done but I obviously couldn't
I am taking each task slowly, when I say task I mean any thing I would normally do, and smoke at the same time. I was a bad smoker, smoking an average of 40 a day.
As you can imagine, there was hardly ever a time when I didn't have a cigarette in my mouth or hand so every thing I am doing is a test to see if it will trigger a really bad urge.
Theres lots of things I haven't done yet to test myself but I will be doing them over the next few days.
Anyway, sorry to ramble on, just wanted to say how well I am doing and I truly hope you are all doing well too, heres to a smoke free year! :TStopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
Your doing really well ragtime player, keep it up.
I've not had a cig for 72 hours yesterday was hard i had one moment when i had that little voice in my head saying "go one just one little cig won't hurt then you can stop again, imagine how relaxed you feel when you've had it. Go on you deserve it for doing so well!" i just ignored it and it soon passed.
I know what you mean about having a cig after doing things i would reward myself with a cig and coffee after doing the housework.
Oh well heres to day 4.0 -
Are you using the Silkquit meter Mophead?
it really is a good way to tell how well you are doing and it gives me a real buzz when it say how many cigarettes I have not smoked (not smoked 103 so far!)
Today (day 3) has been slightly easier than day 2 and I went out in the car and drove to the carboot, I would normally smoke while driving but I resisted the small urge to do so.
I really feel that I will not smoke ever again, even if I got the urge, I wouldn't act on it as what would be the point of throwing almost 3 days hard work away for something that will taste disgusting and will make me smell like an ashtray again?
Heres to all the other peeps trying to escape from the wicked weed!Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -

No i hav'nt looked at the silkquit meter yet, i've given up so many times, 2 times lasting about 9-12months and twice 18months. The problem is i forget what it was like to be a smoker and seem to have this romantic idea that smoking is nice. Then a stressful event = 1 fag and before you know it i'm back to 10-15 a day.0
