I left the patch of last night, but shouldn't have done as i felt so rough i couldn't get out of bed.
Had a thumping headache and felt really sick, since giving up smoking i don't seem to be able to eat much, everything tastes funny.
Stayed in bed till one, didn't get much sleep as keep getting weird dreams that wake me up.
    Feel a bit better now.

I had that too in the first week of stopping smoking, had very disturbed dreams and tossing and turning all night, it did only last a week though!

It could have been the increased oxygen to the brain that did it :)

    Hi All
Ragtime thankyou for that link, spent this afternoon reading it. Nice condensed Allen Carr book really.

Hi Arwen, Also had strange dreams last night, more debt related, tried to pay for my shopping with Switch, but the system was down, so I went to get some cash and when I came back the system had been back up and I'd paid for my shopping twice..scary.

Anyway I digress, feeling on top of it today, heading for 24 hours smoke free. Big deal for me.

Want to know how everyone else is doing.

I tried every aid , book, cd, patch ,gum etc on the market all to no avail. I had given up giving up. I thought the only way I could stop would be by some miracle as I have no will power at all. Well a miracle has happened. There is a new tablet on the market (perscription only) and it stops you wanting a cigarette. I'll not go into all the details of how it works but it does. I have now been smoke free for 18 days and cannot believe it. My 2 brothers also heavy smokers have used it and both stopped smoking as well. It's called Champix. You'll probably have to fight with your doctor to get it as it's expensive but it'll be worth it.

Hi Francophile thanks for that info, well done on stopping :T
Well chuffed with my progress so far, feel some energy seeping in. Only trouble is I seem to be nibbling chocolate and drinking loads of tea.

    Hi Jo,

Well done :T I Sincerely mean that. Although the thought of giving up is quite scary it's also quite exciting aswell:D

I have now been smoke free for 5 days and 6 hours. I am meant to be going out to the pub tonight so that is going to be hard but I'm sure I can do it :o

    Good luck everyone.

    Thank you John.
Not thinking about failing anymore, never been a defeatist but it really was getting me down, just waiting to give in and light up.

Sending positive thoughts for you in the pub, know you'll sail through it cos you have oodles of self dicipline, but enjoy it cos you worked so hard at putting everything in order:)

I'm looking forward to a day in the garden with my book !

Well done to you too. Keep it going. I'm drinking the coffee and nibbling the biscuits too but I'll deal with that later. Try drinking water, it helps.:j

    Morning,
Done really well since Thursday, one temptation got to me last night. Had a drink, lit one, passed it to DH. That'sa it one drag, no regrets, not thinking of doing it again. Seriously thinking of teetotalling. (why is it called that ? Of to google...)

Hope you are all coping well, happy Easter and all that
