I bought a crittercage using my debit card in November and they charged me again in December. No notification and no permission sought or given. I only discovered the second charge checking my bank statement for something else.
I emailed them asking for a refund and an explanation and like others here I was told a refund had been made and the gave me a discount code for my next purchase (as if )
Of course the refund didn't arrive and when I chased it their replies started getting more and more rude and abusive.
I am now trying to get the money back through the banks chargeback scheme and I have lodged formal complaints with both Consumer Direct and with the Trading Standards Office and asked them to investigate the company.
I am shocked by the volume of these complaints. I wonder how many people they have taken extra payments from who have not noticed. Perhaps it is standard practice for PPS to do this and only refund, after a fight, those who complain.0 -
Unbelievable!!!! - with all todays security from the banks it appears its all absolute codswollap!!!!! - it appears that once you have handed over your debit card details for one transaction you are wide open to repeated deductions from your bank account and you can do absolutely nothing about it other than get your card cancelled!!
Pawspetssupermarket know this and is LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THEIR OWN BANK ACCOUNT!
what is further unbelievable is that they are still being allowed to do this - even after no doubt hundreds of complaints to trading standards and the like - i was shocked to see the number of incidences on facebook for this website!
why have i not seen anything in the national media for this company warning people and informing them about debit cards being so open and unsecure - why are so many people i speak to unaware that this can happen with a debit card payment
ive been stung for £321! - im today contacting any forms of media that may be interested!0 -
Like the last poster i bought a dog bed in Dec no problem with delivary, then i noticed a second unauthorised payment in Jan, fortunatley i used my credit card so they are on to it and i got my money back. I got a couple of e mails saying the refund would be in my account in 5 working days, or they would send me a chq, all rubbish , they are probably a one man band operating out of a garage somewhere.:mad:0

This website isnt legal ie doesnt disclose legal ownership - the london address of course is rubbish - the guy who is actually behind this lives in Blackburn - i have managed to get his details through a fraud expert - and funnily enough - maybe pure coincidence - but the company hosting his website EKM has a Darwen address - not to far from Blackburn - and the guy responsible for pawspetsupermarket possibly has an IT background!! - coincidence? - could be -
Im told trading standards and the police are a complete waste of time - hence why hes still stealing from people and this website is still running - but he has had other companies too.
Im doing what i can but its early days - ive emailed pawspetsupermarket revealing i know the guys name and home address - ive no response as yet - but maybe all of you on these forums who have been stolen from would like his details eh ? we'll see what happens!0 -
Ah well, at least I am not alone. I also wish I had seen the info in this thread earlier.
Bought a product for £9.99p in July 2010. Yesterday (Jan 2012) I spotted a rogue entry on my bank account and now realise that PPS have taken £9.99 from my account on 11 additional occasions. Yes, I also tried ringing and await a response to an e-mail. Off to the bank this morning to start the process of recovering this money, hopefully.
The extent of these transactions indicates an obvious and recurring fraud so why have these people not been prosecuted?0 -
Has anyone bought anything from Paws Pet Supermarket?0

I purchased a bird cage from Paws Pet supermarket and they charged me 4 months running. Fortunately my credit card company refunded the money. They are criminals and I cannot understand how they are getting away with it for so long.0

I have just tried to order some dog food from pet supermarket, their system doubled my order after giving my details, I immediately informed them of their mistake. They informed me that they would refund the over payment, I have told them that they can cancel all of the order immediately and was informed that the refund would take three working days. I rang my bank and was informed that I would be penalised for being over drawn. When I rang them back I was told that they had not cancelled the order as asked. I again informed them to cancel the order and refund the full amount. I also informed them that they are responsible for any charges from my bank.

wish I had seen this site before making my order in october 2011.
Looks like their website is down now. I noticed on Feb that PPS had taken three aditional payments of 50.49 from my account.
I thought they were a good company I ordered some dog coats they did not fit. I contacted them by email. They gave me an address to return the coats. I got repalacement coats without any hassle and thought everything was great until I checked my bank account and found I had been ripped off for £150.
I immediately contacted my banks fraud department and emailed PPS informing them of their mistake at the time i thought it was a genuine error on their part. Until I did some digging on the web.
The bank has refunded my money and is chasing PPS now. I notice their website is now gone. Guess they have moved on to another scam0
