I would definitely go to Trading Standards about this. I mailed them again this afternoon saying that I was taking things further if there was no resolution by the end of the week, and I won't be backing down about this now that I know I'm not the only one this has happened to. I spoke to my bank about it, and if like me you used a debit card to pay for the goods, there's nothing they can do to stop the payments coming off as its a "guaranteed" form of payment. All they could do was suggest cancelling my card and sending a new one, and using a credit card for future online purchases. I certainly don't want them to take money off monthly. If you've not authorised those transactions then its theft in my book.

They have a Facebook page, so it might be worth posting something on that to see if you get anywhere, and I also found another Facebook page warning people against using them because of the same problems we've had.

Good luck and keep us posted with how you get on, will be interesting to find out :)

Sorry trying to find a way to reply on this site..!!
    Quote Krina...
PPs will just delete you on FB then block you..
The beware f site is good to vent out.. but these people have been doing this for many months.. and soon will just disappear with the obvious thousands they will of made by then..
Their address's are fake and virtual..
Thier intention is to dupe us out of money.. the only things they actually send out is the smaller cheaper items.. you'll see on the fb site.. many ordered bigger itmes.. that wernt delivered tho paid for...
    Just another modern online scam..!!:(
  • Hi again
I went into my bank branch who reiterated that they can't do anything about this, I said if cancelling my card didn't mean that the transactions would stop, I would close my accounts. I left them with the crime reference number.
I emailed Pawspet and informed them about the fraudulent transactions and that I had reported it to Trading Standards, Police etc. I got an email back from Pawspet, who apologised and said this was an error and I would be refunded with 3-5 working days, also offering me a £5 voucher as compensation.
Anyway, today, I am amazed that the money has been refunded into my account. I still remain convinced there's something very strange going on that should be looked into.
What's happened to anyone else with regard to this?
I think those that fight hard enough.. may get their monies refunded..
I had the generic email they send to everyone, the 3-5 day.. but mine wasnt refunded. But my bank refunded it for me, and are investigating them?
I have told many other organisations, trading standards etc..
Check the beware of pawspets supermarket on facebook..
  • I ordered from this company twice last year, the first order in November was despatched quite quickly, the 2nd order in December I did have to chase. I checked my bank account yesterday only to find that they charged my card again for the December order. I tried emailing them, calling them only to get their answer phone message, high call volumn blah blah blah. My bank have been no help at all saying that I ordered from them so basically my fault and they cannot stop the payment if they try to charge my account again next month, the only option I have is to close my account and open up a new one. I wish I had found out about this company before I ordered from them, and I certainly will NEVER order from them again
  • Ah well, at least I am not alone. I also wish I had seen the info in this thread earlier.
Bought a product for £9.99p in July 2010. Yesterday (Jan 2012) I spotted a rogue entry on my bank account and now realise that PPS have taken £9.99 from my account on 11 additional occasions. Yes, I also tried ringing and await a response to an e-mail. Off to the bank this morning to start the process of recovering this money, hopefully.
The extent of these transactions indicates an obvious and recurring fraud so why have these people not been prosecuted?
  • Back in November we ordered some cat food that was being discontinued by the manufacturer from the above company. A few days later we found on the internet reviews of this company and due to the bad experiences from others, cancelled our order. We received a cancellation confirmation email on the 2nd December and then had to try and telephone the company to arrange the credit of the £17.33 charged. This was impossible as others have found, they are always ‘experiencing high volumes of calls’ no matter the time of day. We emailed them to get the credit on several occasions and finally it arrived after threatening then with legal action if they failed to pay. We have now had our credit card charged again, as others have, and so we have informed the credit card company and they told us a monthly subscription had been set up without our knowledge or permission. The credit card company is now going to deal with the problem and we are very pleased we used a credit card and not a debit card. We have been advised to notify Trading Standards/Consumer Direct, which we have done and they in turn have recommended we also notify Action Fraud, which we have done, as setting up a payment monthly without consent is stealing and is thus fraud. We would recommend that others in this situation should follow the same route and then perhaps Paws Pet Supermarket will be stopped from trading in this way. The other way is NOT TO ORDER FROM THEM!
  • I bought a dog bed in December off PawsPet Supermarket and was recharged for it again in January - I have emailed them and they said they would refund me but have not. I have since emailed again and they have sent some awful replies implying that I am being a bad person asking for my money back, this company needs to be closed down straight away!
  • I've been ripped off too - sadly I didn't see this thread until afterwards. I've contacted my bank who will instigate the fraud process in 30 days - unfortunately these cowboys may have robbed me again by then though. I've emailed the cowboys and told them I have called the police and the trading standards and I have also left a nice few comments on their Facebook page. Also contacted the daily mirror who have a journalist that deals with cases exactly like this and directed them to thus thread and the beware paws pet supermarket Facebook page. Hopefully a bit of publicity might shame them into closing the bar stewards !!

I would not recommend using this company at all. I bought a dog basket for a bicycle with a wire top. The product arrived and the lid did not fit the basket. I rang them several times but there is just a messsage saying "due to high call volumes ....etc" so emailed to find out how to return the item. They asked me to give details of the faulty product, which I did. They then asked me to send them a photo, which I didn't as I wanted to return the product. Eventually they sent me an address to return the item to. I sent this 3 weeks ago - and guess what? they are saying they have not received the return. I should have sent it recorded but it was hugely costly for such a large item. Their customer service is terrible and I think they are also dishonest . DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they are rouges!!

Mabel1 your not alone. I did the same as you returned a dog coat without recording it and they denied all knowledge of ever receiving it. I was told on other sites that this is what they do. I tracked down the address they gave me and i was able to track it down to a double glazing company and when you go on google earth, its just a house in the middle of nowhere.

I tried to contact them and all i got was a nasty rude reply, telling me to prove that i sent the item back, this messaged contained loads of F words, I replied and told them they needed to attend a customer service course. I contacted Trading standards and they werent at all helpful. I had to cancel my bank account incase they decided to play dirty.... a bunch of foul mouthed thieving scumbags if you ask me.
