Nokia N95
Just had a call from my network provider who tentatively said this will be available Mid-Jan on O2. They also said I could get it free on upgrade.
Surely will be the best phone available on the high street. Similar to the excellent N80 Smartphone I was going to get, but with WiFi, up to 2Gb Memory, plus HSDPA, 5MP Camera and GPS built in!
What do others think?

Personally I would snatch their hand off.
Was reading about it in the new What Mobile that came out today and they didnt have a bad word to say about it.
I have a N80 which is a good phone but the N95 looks so much better.0 -
yeh but orange said they are not stocking them because they arent reliable. I personally would go for Sony W850 or 9500

The Symbian S60 operating software on the N series is VERY slow and frustrating to use for this reason.
The release date is March so I will be very surprised if O2 get it before then.
I know this from Nokia trainers.

Orange branding is probably the worst of all networks and they tend to mess up the phones all on their own. I have a unbranded N80 and a mate of mine has a Orange branded one. His is slow and buggy where as mine is faster and i have no problems.
O2 branded are about the best as they hardly have any on.
W950i is a good music phone but has no camera and the W850i is basically a slightly upgraded W900i.
There is no comparison between those phones and the N80 .. never mind the N950 -

As sockpuppetuk said, when Network operators brand the phones, it slows them down considerably. I've got an N70 which is a vanilla version and the speed is fine. Previously, I had the O2 butchered version and it everything took about twice as long.0 -

i don't agree that the w850 is an upgraded w900. Yes it has an upgraded mp3 player, and is smaller. But on the w850 the camera only has a 4x zoom not 8x zoom like the w900, and the w900 has a 400 and something megabyte internal memory. the w850's is about 64(?) megs
it's more of an upgraded w8100 -

Yes, I would guess that's nearer to the right date, O2 release many new phones first. From my experience Carphone Warehouse (who told me) are not known for their honesty.0 -

Comparing this phone to these SE phones is like comparing a Nokia N80 to a Nokia 3310!!!
This phone is in a league of its own!
And it has a dedictaed graphcis controller so the speed should be quite fast.
But you can't have the best of both worlds, this is a smartphone and they are not. Simple.0
