Which Nokia is it? (Do you mean the £19.99 3510i?)

If it's that one you will have no problems unlocking it.

    Try this site. http://www.unlockme.co.uk/unlockme.html
Download the Hollowman's unlock calculator (it's free). It will unlock loads of different phones mainly Nokias. I've used this on countless Nokias and it has worked every time, normally first time.

With the program, to find out what type your model is. First look under Help/info, then click Nokia DCT list. This will show you the setting for each model phone.

I've read the previous postings and looked up the websites, but i've still got a stupid question.
I bought the £9.99 Nokia from Orange yesterday, and I want to use a cheaper tariff. It looks straightforward enough, but if I can't unlock the mobile with the codes, will the phone still accept the Orange sim card, as it's not worth paying someone to do it for me.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
    Update - It's the 3510i that I bought.

if you are not brave enough to do the code yourself, i can do it for you if you send me a private message ....FREE of course !!

Don't be put off by doing it yourself it's very easy to do. All you have to do for the Hollowmans code calculator is put in your IMEI number, your network and the type of phone. You click calculate and you will be given seven unlocking codes. Use the seventh code first, then the first then the fifth. It really is easy. I find most of the time (90%) the first code I try works. Every time I've used it, this program has worked spot on.

The bonus with this program is, you can unlock as many phones as you like. I've lost count of the phones I've unlocked with it. I've even done it over the phone with someone reading out the IMEI number and network to me. Then I gave them the unlocking code straight away. In the help file, it will walk you through the process if you are unsure.

    A very handy little freebie.

however, when I try the Sim in my unlocked 3310 or 3410 I get a "sim rejected" message.

The 3 sim will want to be in a 3g phone. Maybe it roams O2 when there's no 3g coverage, but in a 2g phone all the time - unlikely

none of those old phones support WCDMA and the 3 sims are now set to default to their network, so like the last post says...you need a 3g phone..

    thanks
  • I've tried the Hoowman's calculator, however, it gives me 7 codes with letters and spaces in it - how am I suppose to input these? Perhaps I could be cheeky and give you my IMEI and ask you to have a look for me please?
