so when you buy these you get the mp3 stero not the one listed in the advert, i mite be interested if it mp3 format

Hi mate,

I see you are having trouble getting the external screen and steering wheel remote to work in your Renault. I have a 2002 Renault Clio along with the beautiful Sony CDX-M7850 stereo and I have the correct adapter that makes the screen and steering wheel remote work. You can find it here. I am not sure if it will work with your car, might be worth emailing the company to check. There are a few different models on the website too, so take a good look. On the pricey side, but worth every penny to keep my steering wheel remote AND have the tracks name scrolling across my clio radio screen! Looks awesome HTH!

Just picked one of these up, many thanks to the OP. I am buying my Dads Rover 45 off him later this week so need to replace the factory fitted one.

I presume this will be fine to plug into the ISO connector but what about the steering controls. presume I need an adaptor but will it work on this Stereo seeing as it was originally for Renaults?

Yes the beeping noise is to warn you that you haven't taken the face off!

No luck with Renault either. Would not give me the connector pin out details. Refered me to a car audio place. He reconed that this type of unit were shipped straight to the manufactures and wer'nt meant for resale.

I have decided to keep the unit anway, so will try getting advice from Sony Europe, since technically it is a new unit and should be gaurentee'd.

Box states that it operated directly with the steering controls so I will see what Sony say's.

Box say's MP3/WMA/ATRAC3plus playback capability there is also a 3.5mm jack on the front of the unit designated as an Aux socket to allow use of an external MP3 player.

Bargain - I paid £90 for the same one a year ago from halfords- easy to fit- get your iso plug off ebay cheap and away you go
