    RiCh,
No, these units will fit most cars as a drop in replacement, assuming they have a DIN slot (letter box type hole to fit the radio into) and ISO connectors on the car wiring harness. The ISO connectors may not be a problem as you can get cheap adaptor cables from motor parts suppliers and on line. The Renault part is just for remote operation via built in steering column remote control stalks.
EDIT: See iceax's post (#8) on page 1 of this thread for a quick idea of what to do, if you need one.

    TERMIN8TOR,
You could try looking at the various In Car Entertainment suppliers on line for an idea what you may need. I have used these in the past, they were very good and a lot cheaper than Halfords at the time. Start with the Focus selector page to find the bits needed for your model Focus.
As I said, other on line suppliers offer similar, but you may find it easier to talk to someone at a local motor factors.

these radio you can fit in any car you may jsut need to buy a facia surround and wiring harness, but most car have these standard iso connectors these days, i know alot about steros as i do this as a side line, best place to get the facia adaptors is ebay or for a ford, go to ford it self miles cheaper than halfords, if you need any help jsut ask i fitted that many stero, amps, dvd players etc. I find vauxhall a pain in the !!!!, fiat a tight fit peugeot aint to bad, ford you have lods of room to work with

I have a focus, it not to bad, remove radio with 2 u shape keys get these form the local halfords if you ask nice they mite even do it for you, or ask ford, one out there a big hole so you go to your local ford and they should do a stero surround for a focus/ escort, there the connecters will be wrong so you need a wiring harness from halfords, then it jsut a case of putting it all together and job done, im guessing you focus is the older shape one

I'd be very interested to hear if you get any joy as I am having the same problem with my Y Reg 2001 Kangoo. It should work, but maybe the wiring is different. If you have any joy let me know!

The yellow plug is doing somthing, because I get a dull orange glow to the dash display with the plug in. However none of the controls work. no does the display show anything (apart from the dull orange glow). Tried the original radio, display came up with 4 zeros waiting for the security code but although I could enter it onto the display by the steering controls i could not remember how to get the radio to accept it. However by the fact that the display came up clear using the old radio I would guess that it is ok.

I am wondering if the pin outs on the plug have been changed on later model CD units.

snap nightrider - thats the problem I am having. Worth contacting Renault I think - it should work, and the leaflets that come with the radio suggest it should work. I have one of these to try in a 2002 Clio too witht he same connections - but need to grab the original radio code from Renault first - bought the car brand new and it didn't come with the radio code!

Cool im really tempted to get one for my car.
Will it fit easily in a Vauxhall Astra? The standard one looks about the same size, so i wouldnt really need to buy any fascia bits, but would i need to get some kind of adapter to use with the steering wheel controls, and also the to show the tracks on the dash display?

    Thanks
