cheers for that. My local Sainsburys has put almost every decent parking spot as a disabled one, there must be about 50 disabled spots and 30 none disabled. If it doesn't apply on private property i'll park in them, especially as you never see anywhere near that many people who'd need to park closer to the doors.

And in my local Sainsbury and Asda they have recently painted out many disabled bays in favour of "Parent and Child" bays - Money talks?

They still have three or four disabled bays by the door of course - Which IME are mainly used by Police collecting shoplifters or going to the fast food consession/counters for munchies! :D

So no doubt you reported these frequent breaches regarding fast food stops?

isn't that part of the T&C's for being able to park in a disabled spot? that you display a blue badge, the same if it's on a public road and not a private car park?

    Sounds reasonable enough to me.

there's a load of them as well... doesn't help that they're refurbing the place and have built a cafe in the middle of the car park.. then there's all the scaffolding and sectioned off parts.
Not sure why i'm complaining though as i mainly use Asda and only go to Sainsburys for 'bits'

I took a photo of a van in one after they used the same legit disabled spot opposite a kebab shop seven days in a row and ensured it got a good airing on local newspaper sites and messageboards. It didn't seem to make a lot of difference.

They just used a squad or unmarked car after that!

Frankly, if I have to have dealings with the police in my area, I'd rather they were well-fed, stoked-up on coffee and fags and ready to work.

Mind you, when I worked in a local garage/shop a good few years back, I also noticed the local bobbies were by far our best customers for "top-shelf" media. Not so sure about that! :hmm: :D

I frequent a nearby coffeeshop and my OH worked in a nearby shop. So I'm often about that part of town.

And the garage I used to work for was well-used by the local station for fuel and erm.. "extras," so I knew virtually all the vehicles.

And if I'm going to be reporting any Police for anything, it would be for something a bit more serious than parking abuse!

Here is an example James,of what is wrong with these companies, and how when a private individual tries to mimic the real laws they should be ignored.
I got a ticket because I accidentally inputed the wrong registration number. The company refused to do anything about it.Does that seem fair or right to you? (apart from the fact they are unenforceable),their ethics are not sound.I was a genuine customer, they still wanted to "fine" me.

Woah! The mind boggles. That is something else!

I've made stupid mistakes, and lost out financially. Yes I was fuming. And I was cross that I wasn't granted any leiniency against my error.

But it takes a whole level of obnoxiousness greater to label the people dealing out the consequences of my failure as "scum" simply for following rules and not bending them in a way I would like.

I'm proud to be a nice person.
